AFK on docking pad?

What if someone is afk on the docking pad and i have a limited time to turn in my contract? I'm just sitting in space right now waiting....

Grab your viper/cobra, fit interdictor + wakeshift scanner. When they come back interdict them and rough them up a bit and tell them why you did it. They'll stop doing it, or drop to solo, or at least avoid the area :p

This plan seems pretty low on the feasibility spectrum.

There should be a time limit, but then there should be a que system, E.G:

No one waiting, take all the time you want
People waiting and all pads full, start a timer before you are auto kicked from the landing pad or sent back to the main menu.

Obviously times will need to be adjusted as you need to account for people just checking/cashing in jobs and those (like myself) that trade 100% in game and need to write down/compare prices, but its hardly asking for much.

I'm sure they will fix it, eventually.

Or the simpler way to "fix" it (TBH I don't see this as "broken") - after the said timer expires, automatically "ENTER HANGAR". The pad clears up, you're tucked safely inside the station while still being AFK.

Plus, the code for doing all these is already present. No new code to write.

Except that being in the hangar doesn't currently free up the landing bay.

But being in the hangar doesn't free up the pad for someone else to land on.

Oh, it's doable. But there's a lot of variables. Why not just block them?

Didn't know blocking worked like that... nice. But my solution doesn't involve meta :p TBH I probably wouldn't do it again, it took an hour for the guy to undock and I was lucky he did so while I wasn't tabbed out.

No, but mine doesn't involve prolonged high blood pressure and staying mad at someone for an hour :p

"Just go solo" is unfortunately the only real way around it right now that said it would be nice if say, if people went into hangar that the pad freed up, just instance the pads when in hangar and then queue coming out of them if there is already a person out?

Have good armor and shields...line up with the AFK player on the pad, Set to full speed, then BOOST right into them. Collisions damage is not considered an attack, so you can destroy them with out triggering a bounty. They are dead, you have a pad to land on...assuming you did not did in the collision also. Armor good, more armor is better!

And the added lesson for them, if you AFK get into the station.
