You are loosing pvp hungry players.

Why is pvp a bad thing ?

No profit in pvp,

No honor in doing pvp, and by honor i mean honor amongst killers a latter og a Bounty system for other players to be able to put op bountys on a Killer/pirate

No fun in pvp, its to easy for other players to just Jump away or disconnect to escape.

So why have an OPEN world funktion, when pvp issent a part of the game... and yes i know its possible to do pvp, but as long it doesent have any focus or purpose from developers, it sin my book not a serious part og the game.

Space aint safe, in any space sim/movie/scifi show its for the Elite and the Dangerous..... so stop trying to be so mainstream .... make the game ELITE and Dangerous.. its easy and fun.

Fly safe o7.............. or not o/

There is profit in PvP... I think you're meaning there isn't profit in killing players purely for the enjoyment of PvP, but that's exactly how it should be, this is a multiplayer universe not a PvP arena, therefore there is no reason that you should be rewarded for killing a player unless that player had a bounty you were after, or was an enemy combatant. There's nothing stopping you doing it if you enjoy it and it's what you want to do, but don't expect to receive money for it, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

A player-driven bounty system was considered but the potential for abuse, and the amount of moderation that would be required to prevent it being abused was what I think put them off.

Again, if you interdict a player and they are determined to escape then most of the time they will escape... that is the life you chose as a pirate/bounty-hunter, back to the 'this is a multiplayer universe not a PvP arena' comment.

There does admittedly need to be more done to give people more options for careers that will involve a lot of PvP, but the game is on the right path and won't deviate from that. Is it not normal in any game for some people to buy it and find it wasn't the game they wanted (if they wanted something more arena-like and PvP intensive)? Games should stick to what they originally set out to do and not change in order to satisfy someone who the game wasn't designed for in the first place.

By the way... this thread is going to turn into something of a storm in a teacup when the PvE fanatics find it.

In this game pvp and pve are essentially one and the same. I think you have to get out of the theme park paradigm that make pve and pvp two different thing. In Elite they are one and the same (I repeat). So if there is a point in attacking a npc there is exactly the same reason to do the same to a player (though of course they may be better than the AI at everythiing including fleeing). This is what make the thrill of meeting someone in Elite is that you don't know how he will react. The point of pvp is the flavour of the meeting not the tactical aspect of it.

I hope I have been clear enough.

The more players the better.

The fewer poor players the better.

If a certain aspect of the gaming community find Elite not quite to their taste - they will not play it. Other players will not be irritated by their juvenile antics. Everyone benefits.
