VOIP War Cease Fire Declared
Representatives of Emperor’s Grace have reached out to factions within Goon Squadron to seek peace. After days of heavy conflict arose between the two player factions over VOIP restrictions and access, the population had just about given up on seeing the night skies without the constant light show that close atmospheric combat brings.
However, brave members of both factions have been secretly working for peace in order to reduce the collateral damage associated with all out interstellar war.
"This has gone far enough. We never wanted war with the Goon Squad." an unnamed source has declared to the GNN.
Sources inside the Goon Squadron indicate that members were uninterested in the war beyond defending the trade lanes from “Over zealous loyalists.” Most of the membership agreed that it would make more sense to concentrate efforts on the impending Grand Re-Opening preparations.
Inquiries into what exactly the Grand Re-Opening was were met with bright smiles and enthusiastic “No comment” from all squadron members contacted.
GNN originally broke the rumors of this story with a tweet sent out some time yesterday. That tweet claimed sources indicated a schism within the leadership of the Emperor’s Grace faction, it seemed that peace was just a matter of time.
Though several of the stations within the VOIP War systems, Gridge, LTT 9810, Jotunheim, LTT 700, and Kappa Tucanae, are in states of civil war, civic leaders of most of the populations expressed excitement that these two local factions were ceasing hostilities.
"When you have star ships constantly shooting down everything in a system, it makes civil war seem tame." A clanleader for the Jotunheim clan was overheard saying to a colleague at a bar in Laird in Jotunheim.
Big Harry, the system president of Jotunheim expressed his happiness over the cease fire, “This is great, this is just in time for the Grand Re-Opening and I feel it important that the system is enjoying some type of peace prior to that event!”
Big Harry also responded with “No comment” in regards to questions about the Grand Re-Opening he had mentioned.
