Ahoj fellow Commanders!
Since the Support seems to be on holidays at the moment, I've just registered on these forums to figure out if I can get a few competent answers on my questions.
A.) Since this game offers "private groups", which basically are intended to play on the same server, basically putting all players of that group into the same can - the question is: "How can it be, that me and my friends are not able to be on the same server to play together?"
My own thoughts on this are - please correct me if I'm wrong - these: The server simply can't re-assign a player inside the group because...
... the server is not able to define a "main server ip" and that way also not able to put them on the same session.
B.) Okay, let's go to the next question. Let's imagine Player A wants to do one of those assassination missions, which implies that Player A has to enter a USS. Now, his friend, Player B is still trying to figure out how the heck to follow his friend.
Possible solution on this, enable group bound player tracking! Yes, it's quite difficult to imagine, but, hey! Player A and Player B are together in group OMEGA. So... Player A-OMEGA joins randomly created USS Session XYZ, Player B-OMEGA can enable frameshift while being in the same system to directly drop by his friend Player A-OMEGA. Sounds cool, doesn't it?
C.) Not being able to see certain players - why?
My thoughts on this: Quite easy and pretty much the same problem as for the "Private Groups"-Issue. There's one central server which basically streams actions. Let's say these actions are AI ships flying entering Station A.
Let's replicate now the situation. Player A wants to find Player B. Both meet up at Worlidge Gate. Both wait at the entrance, but they're not able to see each other in the Open Multiplayer mode. Yet both can see another player entering the Station. Now...
Question of the day: Why can Player A and player B - which are trying to find each other at the Worlidge Gate entracen - not see each other, but yet they're able to see both Player C?
Easy! Because both servers the players A and B are playing on are NOT interconnected! The real question about this should be: Why aren't they? Hm!
I mean, don't take me wrong, ladies and gentlemen... I was totally shocked when Lead Designer Sandro Sammarco wrote this!
Hm? Well, then keep thinking about possible cirumstances, because they're there, dear Mr. Sammarco.

* Ghost interdiction: interdiction ending with no other vessels present - this sounds very much like a bug, so please ticket. In general, if an interdiction completes (either because of submission or the interdictor winning) then both ships should be pushed into the same space. I can't really think of any circumstance where this should not be the case.
