I like the ridiculousness in CMDR's.

I don't know why he did it or what his name was, but it was a player in an Anaconda that swooped in front of my ship while I was docked on a landing pad at Lave Station and stared at me face-to-face for a few seconds. I saw the blue text on the comms coming from a player saying "hello there CMDR I am going to explode bye bye :)"

Boom! He self-destructed and and pieces of scrap whizzed past me.

He just decided to blow up an expensive Anaconda for no apparent reason? What the...?

Being too long in witchspace does things to some long haul CMDR's....they see things out there, things that perhaps dont belong in a spacer's head

Back in the day, before these newfangled FSDs were around, you could look back and see a red hyperspace bubble, contrasting with the blue hyperspace bubble in front. Hyperspace was a simple thing, a space of pure light.
This new... space... that FSD travels through... I don't trust it. It reminds me too much of old space stories. I could have sworn I heard some whispering going on... things flittering at the edge of sight. One of my slaves was cleaning the rear auxiliary airlock during a jump, and, well, you know how new ships come without any kind of rear view device? Even the airlock windows on the rear flank have been removed on all new ships. Well, I wouldn't have any of it, so I had one refitted at a backwater chop-shop. And it's through that window that the slave I mentioned, looked through, while we were jumping through an uncharted system far away from the core lanes.

The poor thing. Can't even talk. The doctors assure me it was just an undetected, pre-existing aneurysm. I'm having that window covered, all the same.

Station managers found a scrap of paper in the debris field when cleaning up after this unfortunate incident. It was charred and not complete but the first few lines were;

"Dear Sir,

Thank you for your recent purchase of our brand new intelligent docking computer system. Our new
proprietary "Hal 2000" software is tailor made to fit your indi........."

That was all that the scrap contained

For some reason I'm imagining the commander in a Michael Cain voice.

"Jeeves?"
"Yes sir?"
"You see that boy Jeeves?"
"The lad in the Hauler sir?"
"Yes, how old do you suppose he is?"
"Must be in his twenties sir"
"Excellent, I've always wanted to give someone nightmares for the rest of their life. Are the slaves still aboard?"
"Yes sir"
"Perfect. Place my ship in front of that Hauler and blow the doors off..."

Polydichloric euthimal! Those stupid b*****ds are taking polydichloric euthimal! It's an amphetamine. Strongest thing you ever saw. Makes you feel wonderful. Makes you do ten hours work in six hours, that kind of nonsense. Especially manual labor. It makes you work like a horse. The army tested it a few years ago. It made the men work alright... then it made them psychotic. It takes a while, ten maybe eleven months... and then it fries your brain.

Could just be a quick way to get around. He would respawn at a starter system which might be where he wanted to be.

Since he could not have sold his thrusters to be unable to move, my best guess would be: afk for human urges and ED skilled relavtive or flatmate just doing launch->self destruct->leave the room as a prank. (oh posting one comm to OP).

Imagine, going away securely docked in a station and coming back to insurance screen with >14M to pay...

Isn't that the same as SmashMyXbox? People standing in line to buy their new toy, then someone comes out of the store with his newly bought Xbox, and smashes it to peaces in front of the queue, just or lulz...
