I have a few stations that I trade with often, they are now friendly to me. Do you know how I can tell we're friends? Because their color turned to green!
Unfortunately that is the only way I can tell. Meaning they treat you no different than before.
Do my new friends scan me less often? Nope.
Do they give slightly better prices when buying, or selling goods? Nope.
Do they hesitate from blowing me to bit if I loiter a bit too long while docking? Nope, some friends huh?
If I shoot them in a friendly fire accident do they forgive me, and say be careful next time? Nope.
Do they in any way acknowledge that my trading with them helped cause their economic boom, and helped secure their dominance of the system. Not in the slightest.
The color green it the extent of the depth of our friendship. Does that seem rather shallow to anyone else?
They could have made friendly stations scan 50% less ofter, allowing smugglers to exploit their friendship at the risk of losing it.
They could offer 5% bonus to buying and selling goods to reward players for their help, to show the relationship you've built with the vendors. They could be some tangible benefit to acknowledge this supposed friendly relationship you've built over time.
Could I trade in some of those 400 billion star systems, that I will never in my life time visit, for a bit of depth to the parts of the game that everyone sees?
