Who is happy they didn't buy it?

I 'bought it' fighting Exaga in Alpha
I 'bought it' docking at Zelada
I 'bought it' attacking Anacondas at the high intensity combat zone
I 'bought it' exiting from supercruise too close to the station
I 'bought it' firing outside Freeport
I 'bought it' by forgetting to ask permission
I 'bought it' boosting past the toast rack in a type 9

Oh boy, I bought it big time and will carry on doing so. Sometimes with giggles, tea and bikkies.

Considering over 1000 people have asked for a refund because of this offline issue calling them people *trolls* is offensive and makes it appear as you are the troll.

I thought you didn't buy the game. Why should you get a refund for something you didn't buy?

Troll spotted!

I, unlike you, only heard of this iteration of elite about a week after release. I played frontier and frontier first encounters to death when I had an Atari 520 (yes I'm old). I however would have been VERY happy to have backed the kickstarter had I heard of it sooner. I fully support their decision to make it online only, and even though I play solo it will nice to see the galaxy and systems evolve when I am not there.

I have much faith in the devs and David Breben in particular as his original game was truly a masterpiece for it's time. I also look forward to the future that this game brings. If you are unhappy with the way the game was released then all I can say is once it is polished you will be the one feeling left out (short of a nuclear holocaust that is). As for myself I only wish I had known about the kickstarter years ago.

Did you just dare to claim that only people who *buy* the game has a right to complain about its offensive DRM? Wow just wow.

Whats next ? Only people who buy xx expensive car can say it's crap?

This has got to be that brand of satire I always fail to recognize, right?

Tastes vary. I think ED is well worth the price at present, if you happen to be into the space sim genre. It's light on content, no doubt-- but personally I think it's the best example of the potential for crowd-sourced games that we've seen yet. Frontier has laid down an expansive framework that's designed from the bottom up to grow over time, rather than launch out of the gate with a few flashy hooks that stifle the game in the long run, which is what you tend to get when marketing has more say in the game's development.

no, don't twist my words, I didn't say you cannot talk about this game, I just told you the other guy was calling you a troll, and wasn't calling those who paid for this game trolls.

I for one am so happy I didn't fall for the scam and buy this game.

After the major issues recently with games royally screwing us over I vowed never to back/preorder ever again and instead wait for release and see what happens.

Behold no offline single player? That is to me the alpha-omega of if I should get a game. I do not play online games (unless it is a MP session with a friend or two) I expected and was told by the kickstarter that this game WOULD work offline single player. Yet I see people crying that is not so.

I am extremely disappointed with Frontier on this not only did they break promises but they flat out lied.

They would NOT have gotton 1.5 MILLION dollars if they had told people *Hey this game is going to be online only even for single player* do you think that kind of bull works now a days? After what happened the new SimCity etc? NOBODY wants that sort of bull.

It makes me sad reading all the comments from people who are trying their best to get a refund because they got lied to.

Frontier has become nothing but $$$ greed and did not deserve the money they got.

Of course Frontier can change things go back to what was promised and make everybody happy again including me.

This is the kind of bull I expect from EA... Not Frontier not a game we waited about 2 decades for... For shame Frontier for shame.

I'm glad you didn't buy it too. Why are you still here again?
