Sidewinder/Eagle/Hauler/Adder/Cobra/Type-6 stripped & dry docked at alliance space
Viper full A combat ready at alliance space (guarding my dock lol)
Asp full A combat ready at imperial space (mission grinding ship)
Clipper full D/A trading spec. at imperial space (money grinding)
In a few days I will get a trading Python then strip and dry dock my Clipper. Then straight onto a trading Anaconda (screw t7, t9 & Dropship)
Long term plan is to fit Cobra as Miner, Lakon-6 as explorer, Eagle/Adder/Sidey/Python/Anaconda/Viper/Clipper/Asp for combat. Hauler for transport between my 2 "homes".
It's a quality of life upgrade. Like moving from a Corolla to a Mercedes Benz.

I did and it's nice. A rated FSD, D rated for everything else, strip weapons and keep minimal shields for bumps n scrapes. You get a really good jump range to open up your fast trading options and a little bit more room for cargo. Plus it sounds fantastic - I dare you not to think you're in a WWII bomber as you come in to dock
.Bit more expensive on insurance and repairs, but when you're making 100K+ on a single trip it's not bank-breaking if you dent the bumpers.
mathematically speaking:
- Eagle: best maneuverability
- Cobra: Top 3 best ship overall, best speed
- ASP: Top 3 best ship overall, best explorer
- Clipper: Top 3 best ship overall
- Python: best fighter
- Type 9: best trader
if it's a matter of preference then it's personal, my choice would be the Clipper for performance and style, and Viper for fun
Edit: this list can change depending on new ships of course, especially the Fer-de-lance

an exploring cobra
a fighting cobra
i'm working towards an asp, which will replace my exploring cobra.
not ever really been one to grind, so i doubt the bigger ships will happen for me anytime soon.

I went Eagle -> Viper -> Cobra -> Asp -> Clipper -> Python.
Always sold my previous ship because most of the time, I considered it better to buy the ship sooner and make higher profits in the next ship, so the loss at selling it wasn't all that relevant to me.
I think I'll stay in the Python for a while. Don't have the desire to fly a T9 and an Anaconda is beyond my budget for the time being.
Given the current roster, I think I'll keep a fitted Anaconda, Python, Asp and a Viper around once I have the cash.
