Nope, it is working the way the developers and David Braben wanted it to work, and as the HUGE majority of the players. If you got a problem with it, dont do it. Dont tell others how to play, and ESPECIALLY use the thread that was made by the moderators for that topic.

The entire premise of PvP in Elite Dangerous is borked, there is defiantly something wrong with making a game out of victimising other players.
Personally I blame DBOBE and Sandro. I've seen interviews where DB has excitedly state that players can "shaft" one another, and Sandro who insists that "Advesarial" (not competitive) game play is core to the game and has designed the game around enabling well equipped players to prey on vulnerable ones.
It's a tragic, tragic failure and Elite Dangerous will never be the game it could have been if the emphasis was placed on Co-op and competitive gaming instead.

There in lies the problem
It's not wrong but it's overly right either. There is no end game to ED so your not really working towards and end. Just a bigger ship more credits if you want them. It's your game so play the way you want, if you want to do this then just enjoy. Personally I play all in "open" mode, it was the one thing that attracted me to the game (apart from the original). I like seeing other Cmdrs floating about, the risk of being interdicted or just saying hi. I do wish other Cmdrs would say hi back. Space is a lonely place sometimes.

Only to pvp whiners, who through various polls, have been shown to to make up a minority of the forum goers here, and it is also regarded that forum goers here are a minority of the overall player base. So a problem to the minority of a minority is actually pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
