Please Use the Correct Entry/Exit!

Just a plea for everyone to please enter and exit the correct way when docking and exiting a station.
I was foolishly trading without a shield and as I left the station a Cmdr entered the wrong way and ran straight into my Lakon 7 and I've lost 2.5 million credits.. I was going about 100 and went as far left towards the green light as I possibly could.

I had no idea the Lakon 7 was such a soft ship, yes I didn't have shields on, but it wasnt a hard hit.

- Other Cmdr was in an Asp
System : GQ Virginis
Station : Ray Enterprise

It's not 'the correct way', just a convention. Until and unless FD issue an edict, it will remain just a convention followed by some, not all.

I was entering a station in my Asp (with A5 shields and heavy alloy armour) when a commander in an Eagle came charging towards the entrance/exit, slammed into me, and bounced back into the station. All that happened to me was the shields registered an impact. I didn't see what happened to his ship, as I didn't have a target lock on him.

Every day I see shieldless traders flying around.

Every day I message them telling them not to be so cheap.

Every day I get the same reply "Nothing bad has ever happened to me"

Well, its just a matter of time.

I guess I should start ramming them on purpose now that I am flying a T7, maybe they'll listen.

The lesson here is don't fly shieldless, or at least to read the scanner correctly to know if the station door is clear.

The amount of times I've been entering a station, only to see somebody else bombing in or out, and had enough time to move because I wasn't rushing, is too many to count. I've yet to ever have somebody come up on me SO fast that it was oo late to adjust.

yesterday a NPC Eagle evaded my T9 in the docking slot by flying above me. no touching, no scrap.
First time i encountered this, usually they try to shove me out of their way ;)

I would suggest using a shield...

I had to boost yesterday with an Asp in the middle of the letter box (Sorry CMDR - I'm not sure who you were, but I know you were a CMDR), a scan had started, and having a few illegal items int he hold, I didn't want the reputation hit, nor the fine. My timing kinda sucked, and I clipped him. Luckily, on a small amount of damage to shields, we were both fine, and I avoided said scan. I suspect he may not even have noticed, as my Cobra did a bit of a spin, whilst he seemed to just keep on going straight...

Wow, that would be a really thing to do.. And cheap? It's efficient. Yes I was naive, but I have surely made what ever amount I had just lost in the space I saved not using a shield.

I have tried this with my Cobra. It will fit, with a bit of paintwork needing to be done...

Dude I was joking about the ramming part, lol. I'm not a bad person.

Yes everyone take note, the correct way to enter the station is full speed with boost, 4 pips to shields and don't hit anything more durable than you.

Being that most of the larger ships can't really choose a side since they take up a fair amount of the entry way, it is everyone's job to make sure they have shields.

Think of shields as your seatbelt, or a Prophylactic, sometimes they are uncomfortable, but they are more comfortable then what happens if you don't use them.
