Why did I stop playing?

I stopped playing maybe week after release. I am HUGE space fan and even bigger E:D fan.

I have been playing to 2AM realizing I have to get up to work every day, hell, I even forget to eat some evenings.
But then I got Cobra. I got the cannons on it, armored myself up and went hunting. The problem was, I could even hunt anacondas.

When I killed my first wanted anaconda, I was pretty happy. But then I killed another one, and another, but then I realized I have killed the biggest "boss" ship of the game.
I could stopped bounty hunting and go trade, but why? Why to save money, what for? I killed the biggest ship, I don`t need to save millions and millions of money for Python or some trade ship.

So after the week of playing I had the state that I have achieved almost everything. I love the game, but I felt there isn`t much to do, yes there are plenty of stuff to do, galaxy to explore, wonders to see, but why to make money if I don`t get more "powerful" against something else?

There are many activities and maybe now with the community goals there will be stuff to achieve, but again, don`t know why I have hard times coming back :(
What do you guys do? What kept you playing? Trying to reach some point on galaxy? Or just to trade and mine to buy bigger ships?

Thread name(Why did i stopped playing) is grammatically incorrect, sorry for that i think I was in hurry.

I agree with what you are saying.
I've reverted to pirating (not really for the money) and been doing some coop / PvP.
I don't really see the point of trading (I have traded a little bit) because the bigger more expensive ships don't seem to allow me to do anything extra yet.

The Python looks really good, but its crazy expensive, and to be honest I don't really want to run around interdicting players in cheaper ships and stomping them in pythons.

Once everyone has an anaconda I might change my mind.

I just hope they introduce escorts for pirate lords at some point. It will realy get hard fighting off 2 elite eagles and the anaconda. If this happens my viper will not be enough, so right now I try my luck with trading until missions get more difficult. I think I will need this money...

I found a USS with 2 wanted anacondas in it, I thought this would be a nice new challenge.
One of them jumped out seconds after I saw he was wanted, the other was shieldless. I was a bit disappointed.

i just reached the same point last night. instead of my own rant thread, i might as well use this one:

FD seems to think longevity comes from frustrating the hell out of players. i have put up with their incompetence, breaking promises (offline single player), increasing the prices of ships and parts to the stage where it makes no sense to save up for the bigger ships (which is the only real dynamic in the game), stuffing up releases (thanks for the 2 hour break smack in the middle of my gaming time last night simply because they couldn't bring a server back up!).

To add to all that, spent £10 on asp skins just because you can see the hull from the cockpit on that ship only to find that applying a skin doesn't change the color you see out of the cockpit (and the pilot LOD is wrong). anyway, i am happy to put all that to incompetence and lack of quality control and move on but then i discovered that the patch also stuffed up my home base that took weeks to find! I had picked the system (and have 4 ships parked there) because it always had all the upgrades i use and now it doesn't.

I am quiet sick of helping a company that has no regard for its customers and looks like history will repeat itself and elite will become irrelevant as soon as SC is released. There are only so many fanatics that will put up with being spat on constantly. I have finally reached my limit and will spend my gaming time playing games that are designed to be fun for players. stuff this train wreck of a "game" (unpaid work would be more appropriate) that is no fun and all frustration regardless of how hard you try to look on the bright side; they just won't stop trying to make the game as frustrating as possible.

Same, I use a cobra with a small fuel tank and then all A class, its pretty fun coming up against 2 anas, I made the mistake of agroing both so none jumped, I barely made it out alive but for 180k total bounty who cares ^^
.
Pleanty of fun still to be had with bounty hunting, I personally love going to USZAA with a FSDI and sit waiting for ASP's, Anconda's and Pythons.
.
if only there was a way to use the KWS/CS in supercruise pirating/bounty hunting would be a lot more fun
.if nothing else, you get pretty skilled at piloting and interdicting

Who told you that the anaconda is the big bos regarding fights?
It is boss hauling freight while still armed to its teeth and rather strong flown by an human and not an silly AI.
But there are quite a few ships that are more to fear
And i am flying anaconda most the time.

I played Freelancer for many years as a trader and enjoyed it very much...Elite is like Freelancer on steroids when comes to good trade routes and new places to go. If I get tired of trading in one area, there is always some new place to go and then there's the rare trade loops on top of all that...it's not so much about the credits for me as it is the adventure of flying around the galaxy. I'm having a GREAT time and I expect I'll be having fun for a very long time to come. I don't have a need to shoot at stuff or get shot at all the time in order to have a good time

I told me :)
Anaconda is the most difficult ship to destroy in my opinion. It has strong shields and a strong hull, and many weapon slots.

I think its biggest advantage is it has a large mass, so won't be mass locked and can leave whenever it wants. Will be very difficult to kill a player in an anaconda.

Hate to agree but I'm almost there too.

Got a Python kitted out except A power.
Doing missions at the moment to get my rep with the alliance to "allied" and then I'm allied with all factions (FAR FAR TOO EASY).....
This is intermingled with the odd Anarchy Nav beacon.

Only next step is to rank up in the factions (by doing pretty much the same I did with my rep, but only single SIMPLE missions). Jeez, I've got my year5 children making simple plot line stories that branch off in different directions. Wonder if FD fancy hiring some of them to write some scripted missions ;)

Then all that's left is exploring.................................
Oh, and collecting all of the other shiny ships and spec them out. Gotta collect them all!

At least other games will see the light of day soon!!

It's just my opinion here but, you're using the wrong paradigm. The big boss isn't an Anaconda or a Python, it's the Empire, or the Alliance. Changing the balance of power in systems. New stuff is on the horizon as well. Without sounding insulting you shouldn't think like this is structured like WoW or most of the other games out there, Elite has different goals. Widen your perspective, maybe even look for a cause. Try to end Slavery. I've seen posts about that. Drive the French out of that system they claimed. The Galaxy is seriously big, make it yours.

Also there's a good chance the AI is going to get a tweaking for the next big build (or at least I hope so).
