Seems to work for me - thanks.

...This has happened twice now and I have been robbed of about 88,000 credits.
still no fix for missing landingpad numbers? :-/
"Improvements to space station news generated from background simulation events"
Looking forward to this one! Cheers Mike / FD
FD, are you able to expand on this change and what the improvements are? I played for a couple of hours last night but didn't really notice a difference. Too subtle for me perhaps?!
If there is a state change within the system it should be reported in the newsfeed for that system.
Michael
Cool! Are there plans for these reports to also display in neighbouring systems' newsfeeds too?If there is a state change within the system it should be reported in the newsfeed for that system.

Did you try the knowledgebase workaround?

Oh oh oh oh oh my god. So it's just a cronjob? lmao absolutely hysterical. It's how I would have done it, but I can't believe that's how actual developers did it. Hilarious.
How 'bout running that job more than once a day?
That did not happen in my system which entered boom state yesterday at around 3PM (i.e. after 1.06)
Actually, to clarify: a faction within my system (not the controlling one) entered boom state - not sure if that makes a difference. In any case nothing on galnet news about it, even when docked at the station that this faction controls.
Yes - As per my post - "canned response to uninstall everything and then reinstall everything". The steps in the KB are exactly the same as the canned response from support. And it doesn't work. Sure the game can be reinstalled at the latest patch but the next patch fails with the same error.
I just got asked by email response to my ticket if I used IE, and would I clear my Temporary Internet files and website files. Well I don't use IE, and I clear my temps out regularly.
At least they are asking new questions.
I hope the dev guys have looked for failure mode similarities between my situation and others in the same boat. Location, cloud server, etc...
I'm not sure why it's so hysterical. Updating this once per day makes sense: what is being simulated is large changes in the economics and political situation of a star system. How fast do you want that to happen?
Given the time scales, having the simulator tick once per day makes sense. It's also quite handy for bug fixing because you get a whole day to figure out what went wrong, and you won't get weird oscillations happing at a higher frequency than once every two days, so you have a chance to fix that sort of thing before anyone notices.
As for cron: it works, so if you have it you use it.
I meant the manually downloading the file part - did that work?
Michael
Hi Michael,
Are you planning to roll back deaths caused by this bug?
I lost my clipper twice in a space of 2 days, had to go back to sidewinder, lost around 26 mil. credits.

Many Thanks
- Added a safety net so that permits awarded on faction ranks (Imperial and Federal) will be forcibly added at the rank above if the player hasn't been able to access the mission for whatever reason
