Maybe. Where there is water, there could be some form of life.
I rather like the use of the word 'boffin' - I regard it as complimentary (not that I'm a boffin - far from it).... I wish popular science journals would refrain from calling scientists boffins.

ruins -that would be really bad newsI hope they found some alien ruins. An answer to 'are we alone' would be nice. Although, I suppose finding out there used to be 'someone out there' might not mean much in terms of now.
I think fossilized microorganisms are the most likely, followed by a little underground capsule of liquid water.
