5 Million Bounty

Could it be that because of the current clipper mass bug the game calculated the clipper as 0t ship in that cobra collision? It doesn't make any sense.

From an engineering point of view it has logic, an trimaran is never as compact and sturdy as an mono hull.

Question is if the colliosn and damage model frontier uses does take that into account or if they use an primitive model, then it is an bug.

Which are completely non based on the point handled here

what happened is just an example of mass problems, which underline a design glitch regardless of the circumstances

>Which are completely non based on the point handled here

The only point I'm seeing is that mass = win. I can't recall why mass is/should be the only deciding factor. Velocity and point of impact could very well be in the mechanics of it. Also the type of ship (which is mentioned already). Current hull integrity?

Houses are bigger than wrecking balls. etc :) Maybe the OP stuck a potato in his exhaust

Regardless of what I deserve, I choose to play the game as I see fit. I've had this bounty for eons now. The last updated bounty list was from ages ago up until Jan 22 brought the daily updated lists again with patch 1.06.

Think about it for a moment - I've had that bounty since then and for this long and yet nobody has claimed it before...Why do you think that is?

It's not about being salty. I lost 3 million credits in the crash and I can afford to lose my ship 600 times over. That's how I choose to make my path in the galaxy, and that's how I will play and enjoy the game. The 5 million credit bounty took a bit of effort, but rest assured I'll be back on that list before you know it. I will build up a bounty again off of the remains of dead traders and stupid bounty hunters until one day a worthy adversary comes to claim it.

The problem for me is that this is such a blatantly dumb glitch that it does get a little frustrating. It's all fine that the newbie got a nice boost and all, but I've ticketed and posted about the Clipper Mass Lock issue forever now, ever since I got the ship over a month ago. I was responded to by the devs that the fix would come in 1.1 but I didn't think it also extended to collisions...that's just ridiculous.

In any case, look for me again on the bounty list, Commanders. Next time you won't be having a glitch to hide behind.

Edit: I did not have to pay the bounty as I was not in Federation Jurisdiction when I re spawned.

I for one doth my cap to you Redan. Getting 5 million worth of bounty on you is no mean feat, and props for showing up here to explain the tale, and most of all, every great story needs a 'bad guy' its folk running around like you that make the whole thing so very interesting.

Also sympathise with you on the glitch, I was messing around killing things with mining lasers the other day, and got insta killed from an NPC cobra ram, with my own shields still intact with 4 pips. Definitely something weird going on.

Either way, keep doing what you are doing, if I can't beat you, I'll only end up joining you :)

Yup!

But seriously, I will scratch the "paper clipper" off my upgrade list of ships,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :D

I think it's meant to be this way. Maybe not to that extreme. Imperial luxury liner and all.. Even hard point placement says a bit about clipper's place in the game. Not to mention 230t cargo hold. Flown it for a couple of days, didn't like it, too thin. Traded it in for a Cobra.

Don't get all upset, Redan, I'm only teasing. The new mid-size battlestar is probably in the works, something between an ASP and a Clipper, but MEANT for high speed combat.

Peace.

I remember boosting head on into a clipper when leaving a station with my vipper, the clipper blew up and I ended up with 34% hull.

Its like when you hit the ground in station and it does like 3% hull in 0.1 seconds, only a paint scrape lol. Yet a pulse laser does like only 1%

There is another term that is commonly used in gaming that describes the Clipper. Currently it is a "Glass Canon" Hella damage, brittle as glass.

if small ships can insta kill by ramming big ships with full shields and survive it that opens an can of worms.

Put mil armor on an viper, mass kill anaconda python and cliper, T9 and so on.

Funny but someway immersion breaking...

I ran into an NPC Imperial Clipper in my Python once and it took down 2 layers of shielding from my ship. The Clipper's shields didn't budge. *shrug* I've also taken a Clipper from full shielding to 0% Hull by ramming using the same ship. I can't make heads or tails of the ramming system... as always 4 PIPS to SYS.
