OMG what have I done?

Hello All

I need major help! I was bounty hunting in a system and collected a lot of valuable cargo (gold, platinum and the like). The police scanned me and fined me $80,000. I docked at a Federation hub, paid my fines, sold my stuff on the black market and made a tidy sum.

When I undocked the whole Federation hate me, they are at war with me. What do I do to fix this?

You can ignore Federation space and stick to Alliance/independent/Empire, or if you want to repair your reputation, head out to a Federation outpost with low security and just keep doing missions for them until you get back to unfriendly so they stop shooting you on sight, but you will still be harassed/interdicted constantly in SC by sys sec. From then on, it's more missions/trade until you get back to neutral.

Some people would just recommend you to clear your save and start over if you aren't too far in, because it can be very time consuming to repair reputation. Either way it's not a nice situation to be in.

Time to join the Empire friend!

I don't even know where it is!

Its much easier to loose reputation than it is to gain. Every canister you picked up is consider as an illegal act as they are labelled as stolen. They simply belongs to someone els.
Only way for you now is to do trades and missions that increase your fed rep in systems/stations that have federation influence but little to non security. Or do trades and missions between outposts, that is fed controlled, as there is no police force around those stations. But be prepared, it will take quite some time before they are not hostile toward you.

Change your galaxy view to filter out other factions, and remove everything that isn't Empire.
Zoom out a little on the galaxy map, then move down through the galactic plane, and you'll find them.

On the galaxy map go to the View tab and set it to show allegiance. Empire systems will be one colour and Federation systems will be another. Zoom out a bit and you'll seem some Empire ones. I think Liaedin is the deepest into Federation space.

You'll need to move "down" to find the main empire space. Or look for Achenar on the map and travel towards it.

I did a bunch of missions for Federations systems and when I finally got an advancement mission they were still "Unfriendly". Screw them :)

Go bounty hunting in a Alliance system, use a KWS. As soon as you cash in a couple of hundred thousand of Fed bounty you should be good again.

If you want to recover your reputation with a main faction - do donation missions (give for free what they need) for a few systems/stations of that faction, till you get them to Friendly/Allied - and then you get back to Neural/Friendly with main faction. This is a fastest way, but not cheap.

Volontary missions on outposts arethe best and fastest way. Bring non-leathal weapons, food and stuff. Two days and you should be on hostile/unfriendly. For casual player like me it takes 3 days to come back from hostile to unfriendly. And if you want to sell illegal goods find outpost with black market.

You can still do missions even in stations with high security levels. Just turn silent running on and slip under the rader in and out of the station.

Agree, this is one of the easiest and least boring ways to gain rep. I had never been to Empire space and was hunting at a NAV beacon in an anarchy system near Alliance space and collected over a million in Empire bounties so took a trip to the Empire to cash in. Went from neutral to allied in one go.

I think having a bad rep is a fun part of the game, but then again I primarily stay in anarchy and independent space, so it doesn't bother me. The only time I go looking for fed space or empire is for something I can't find elsewhere.
