So, I tried open

Sometimes I wonder what some people do when they come across a shopping buggy abandoned in the middle of the aisle, with nothing in it and no one around. Do they turn around, walk down the next aisle down and come back to the other side to get to the coffee creamer?
I'm a Texan, I shoot the buggy with my ever present pistol. What else can you do?

I was in Acokwang - in my Cobra picking up slaves - got interdicted by a Cmdr R in a Viper who picked a bad day to try that fight.

When I turned up at the Outpost, I tried to find his name in the friends list to send a friendly HAHA, and suddenly his friend Cmdr D P turned up and started shooting missiles at me. I must confess I wasn't ready or paying attention so I had to run - I did send a friend request to them but alas they decided not to add me yet.

Most fun I've had in a while.

Been playing about a month now and have not been interdicted by a human once (plenty of fake humans though (NPCs)). Seen plenty of other players but I guess I'm just not interesting enough.

I'm the same. I've never been interdicted by another player, even when using my lakon 6. I have been playing since Beta. Most players I see are busy doing something else. Some do stop for a chat, which is nice.

Issmir don't you fly something large? There really isn't much point in even interdicting a type 7 or 9 atm is probably why you aren't getting any players.

Why would that be? I would think they'd have much more cargo. I only had 4 tons in this particular ship.

Also, I've never used a cargo scanner (and I wasn't scanned), so I don't know how detailed the information is. Does it tell you how much of what, or just what?

So, I tried open just to see. In a cheap Hauler, just to test the waters. Two jumps from Witchhaul, interdicted, demands for cargo. No problem, self-destruct, lest he target my hatch and profit from it. Experiment over. Total time, under 10 minutes.

Note that I didn't pull the plug, access the router, or log off. So no pvp'ers were harmed in this experiment.

Do you self destruct when you get AI pirate interdicted as well?

Yeah, because that's the most important aspect of piracy: How much loot are you not scoopig up because your cargo hold only has 32t space.

I do now, yes. I got to that point by flying haulers without shields, then adders without shields, then T6s without shields. I never got interdicted in any of those

Although now that I have a clipper, NPCs don't interdict me either. it's actually kind of meditative.

Mostly because they're really hard to masslock, I think.

Wow thread ful of petite Whiners objecting to interdiction on the basis of "no harm done"
At least try a "real" pirate, they are in fact ingame, I have met a few , gave cargo and went on unscathed.
If we want open to thrive it demands ALL of us trying to get it right. Piracy is OK, and NOT a reason for logging, I ff you log on that basis = "play another game"
Lulz killers are a bane to Open play, Pirates and BH's sort them out!!
I am writing tihs as a trader.
In a Python. I have learnt my lessons. I will survive : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBR2G-iI3-I
(I don't know how to link this properly)
Anyway the whole competition thing drives some people mad as the kill count becomes a goal!!! is this the original Elite goal??
No it is not , to be Elite you must also be righteous, it is implied within the game. unjustified killing is Not sanctioned.
Now Cheers everybody, have a nice time in open Anarchy, I am heading to solo, where I know my voice and text comms are not read, but where I do know that if submitting and dropping will buy me a ticket out.
The dark side of me lurks: It is absolutely painless to become no. 1 griefer , :) just kill everything. There are no penalties really
Just the plain thought " If I'm bored, let me make others on line experience = HELL
But I am just a guy that dont do that. I still (hmmmmm) like other people.
I know I am raving, but co pilot Jameson took over ( he is useless)

Cheers Cmdr's

reading is for nerds..

i thought this was going to be another solo to open horror story, although quite bold of you to fly the rare route in a hauler, i skipped the hauler, i ran the rare trade route in a cobra, then an asp, then went on to trade in a type 7 doing normal bulk trade, until i finally had enough for a type 9.

Now when i want to harrass federal traders, i get the cobra out and look for haulers, and type 6,7 on the federal rare trade route, although i do pick fights with cobras and asp also, but only if there aren't any haulers or type 6,7 about.

Use a Cobra or Asp if your doing rare trading dude.
