Pirating CMDRs

Anyone had success pirating CMDRs? I find it impossible to get a Hatch Breaker on before they jump into SC.
Flying a Cobra Mk III with gimbled Beam Laser medium and gimbled Multi Cannon small.

I think the trick with pirating CMDRs is to scare them into just giving you their stuff. The only thing is with the combat logging, short FSD CD when submitting etc.. It just makes things difficult.

I fly an imperial clipper and I always get interdicted by Cobras and pythons. I find it laughable. I am just to fast for you so please Mr/Mrs pirates stop it. You only make me smile.

That clipper is a beast for its size. Fast and very agile. I just wish the large hardpoints weren't out so far on the nacelles. Makes shooting close targets very difficult, you can only hit them with one side.

Since it's possible to equip a cobra to have it maintain constantly a speed of 420 while having 4 pips to weapons, you really should be able to use a couple of lasers to both take out your targets shields and fire your limpets before he SC. Or target and shoot enough on the cargo hatch that cargo drops. Unless you are attacking an experienced player of course, but far from all players are very experienced.

This sounds great on paper but in the real world its next to impossiable.

No it isn't I have done it a few times, and others are doing it too. But granted, it is quite difficult(or rather to easy to escape on the victims part. If the victim is just somewhat competent he/she will be able to escape and the pirate can't do much about it even when he is very good at it. But there is always those victims that are still a bit newbie, and then you have those that won't run away but will fight you instead.
