Lave and docking...

I think all of your tears are just because you are not ready to play in open play. If you want safety - please leave to solo or group immediately!

I think the sandbox / open gameplay game should give a users some dangerous expirience. It is just stupid if you are want to feel yourself safe all the time.

Nobody wants to feel safe all the time rookie, but this is pretty weaksauce lulz crap, not danger. If you need a less confusing example for you, take spawncamping in an FPS shooter. Is it doable, sure. Is it talented or good gaming, no.

If your CMDR name is the same as your name on these forums you are part of the problem.

That you find it funny to warn your only 'friend' on these forums against his trolling on this particular thread only draws attention to you.

Thank you for not being so clever.
I could be part of problem in SC. But it also part of problem. A part of huge carebear PVE player problem.

Thank you for your input kid.

Are you trying to suggest that abusing the game's limitations and shortfalls and hiding inside a station shooting randomly at other players, while instantly hiding from retribution, will give them a sense of danger ? Or your tiny sense of self any worth ?

Could you try a spell checker with your next contribution ? Or is it par for course that you must sound like a muppet ?

You know, the suicide camping in EVE online is a great example. Just give some punishments after killing someone inside the station or something like this but do not prohibit this. Because it is just unclever (even dumb) to create a fully opened space sim but giving some prohibits later.

Even is carebears are crying just try not to listen them. There always be a few guys that cannot mind their hurt feelings and everything they are saying is just bla-bla-bla ban bla-bla fix bla-bla prohibit etc.

At times, it seems it's just another Developer of an online game having not realized just how sociopathic some Players act.
They should have asked some experienced Players - they'd have known in advance...

... but they DID ask some experienced players - it was called the DDF. And they gave every impression of understanding the issue, and what they should do about it.

They just failed to act.

I can literally see the drool spilling onto your keyboard as you type that.

Prohibit, no. I don't want a hand-holdey galaxy. I want the Judge Dredd mentality for law enforcement; like you get for merely parking in the wrong spot to extend to the guy emptying his weapon bay in the docking bay. Right now this is just a crappy exploit, because the galaxy is certainly set up for lethal-response punishment. It should be station-weapons-trained as soon as you go hot in-station, then light you up if you don't stand down in the time it takes to cycle down.

Old players do not mean experienced players. Actually for the sake of the argument 1984 players are unlikely to be very clued up on what gaming is like these days. I enjoy PvP and I love dying at the hands of another player whether the fight is fair or not. But if all game mechanics point to stations as being a 'safe' zone and some muppets find a way to exploit that to use station interiors as their only PVP win, it needs to be addressed in either of 2 ways... give me a way to fight back... which currently lacks... or circumvent their ability to exploit this quickly...

But hey Dev's are aware and they can't be bothered to make this a priority before 1.1 it seems...

Sounds cool, easy to implement. Resolved, next?

Ticket is, get your stuff back. And exploit=ban. So I assume the CMDR in question is removed from the game.

A disabling of weapons could perhaps also fix the point defence exploit. Remember to use the Report A Player function in the menu.

For a pirate and a heavy forum poster you should know there's countermeasures for this.

- Always 4 pips to shields with shield cells ready, point defense off
- Outside the station scan for all-dumbfire CMDR ships, pay special attention to people who have hardpoints out
- If there are no all-dumbfire CMDRs, dock as quickly as possible
- If you see someone deploy hardpoints preemptively spam your shield cell

But then again it's easier to cry on forums than to think of ways to protect yourself next time

You are missing the point. Deliberately, presumably. Yes, you can take measures that will reduce the risk, just like you can reduce the risk of getting shot by a psychopath in real life by wearing a bullet proof vest. The issue is not that people can behave like this, but that FD have not stopped the exploit (as that is what it is - you are not supposed to be able to open fire in a spaceport without getting attacked by the spaceport), and do not appear to have taken action against the perpetrators.

I haven't tried this because I play solo, mostly because of problems like this but could you turn off your point defense and chaffs in the modules section when entering the station. Then if there is an exploiter there, maybe ram him into something that would set off alarms? Maybe get a throw away ship and just pin him down until both explode?

Just thoughts, I hope this gets fixed soon.

Yes you're right. But exploits can't be fixed overnight and the options you have are: post in forum, or do things to protect yourself.

There's quite a few threads on this already, so posting in forum isn't likely to raise dev awareness. Most likely they already have this issue on their to do list.

And I would assert that flying to and docking in Lave is pretty much like walking down an alley full of gun wielding psychopaths.

I had this tonight the docking computer took over i was just in the station and boom i was down to 73% hull.
Lucky for me i had switched off the point defenses after reading another thread a few days ago about the same thing.
If some one gets off doing this then that's their choice they paid for the game just as you did ,if you cant take it go back to solo.
