Asp or Type-6 for trading?

like, per-lightyear whats the price on a cargo fitted Asp in fuel (assuming 120 cargo space)

just wondering, since it CAN afford it right now, and itll be 16tons extra over my T6, more shields, armor, weapons, maneuverability, it seems like its overall an upgrade.

so just wondering what the unspoken/unlisted downsides are to the Asp that FD doesnt like to show in the ship purchase screen

*edit* on that note, is the Asp medium or large? its less mass than the python, so medium, right?

As a tradingship? I'd recommend the Asp when you can afford it. 128 tonnes of cargo is an improvement from the T6.
When comes to hauling goods, more cargo-Space is always the thing I pursuit. Larger ships than the Asp Explorer like the Type-7 and the Imperial Clipper are both unable to land on outposts.

The Asp can land everywhere, it's got a bigger cargohold and thus earns you more money faster.
It's defiantly more expensive to repair, why you want to be extra careful during landings/takeoff. Especially if you fly without a shield..
.
:) In short, I recommend you get the Asp Explorer when you can afford it

Personal choice - I prefer the Asp. Mine is set up with 80T of cargo - but I have a C5 shields and an A3 fuel scoop (I don't really like paying for fuel), though the jump range of the Asp, along with it's fuel tank size are pretty awesome.

I also have an advanced discover scanner, KWS, a couple of medium autocannons and 4 burts lasers for the odd bounty hunting session.

A T6 will be way cheaper to outfit (my Asp is already worth 16m and it's the absolut eminimum setup I'll live with), but running a T6, for me, would just be soul crushing. At least this way, I'm not afraid of interdictions...

I thought about the scoop - but frankly I'd rather just pay the price for fuel and get on with trading. It's roughly twice the cost of the T6 for the same distance - that's all! It ain't huge really. And hanging around a sun waiting for the 32 ton tank to fill takes a while AND you risk a little heat damage which will cost you more than the fuel you saved. Frankly I think that it is a false economy - UNLESS you are off exploring of course, in which case it is a necessity. Beautiful balancing by FD here I might add!

Invest in a high-quality scoop - it makes all the difference ;)
