Heat Damage

Hey folks!
I'm looking at drawing information from this huge pantheon of pilots that flew different ships for a question about heat damage.

Basically, I noticed that my Adder and my Cobra both started taking heat damage above 140%. I heard that an ASP takes damage at 150%, while a T7 fries from 130% onwards.

Anyone out there flying ships and heating'em care to comment at what point your personal ship starts getting too hot to handle? =P
I want to ascertain if each ship has a heat threshold or if they all burn at the same point.

Thanks! :)

Hmm, my Asp started to take damage at 150%, that said it came with a D-level drive (max. class possible), D-level power distributor (again max. class) and a general exploration setup... I know that one number for certain as I wanted to approach the Mintaka B black hole and it was a tricky little ride...

So I don't think there is any influence of heat radiators or internal heat management on the damage threshold... at least at the moment.

I know armor with thermal resists protect you from solar heat. I once went up to 245% heat and took almost no damage.

"armor with thermal resists protect you from solar heat"

That's interesting to know. A ludicrously high price to pay though.

On a Python, with the basic lightweight armour, I have got heat damage at 133%. See, it's not great at everything;)

I must admit I have wondered about having a temp gauge like in my car where you have normal operating temp band (what would now be 50 to 100%) and an over heating but bearable just warning to pay attention and do something band (100 to 150%) and a damage occurring band (150% plus).
