Taking hull damage through shields

This happen to anyone else? It's happened several times, but they were all from running into a ship/structure before. This time it was from weapons. My shields were low, I popped shield cell, got hit with a fatty plasma accelerator, took 15% of my hull off, but I still had shields up ( pretty low, but they were still active).

Anyone else have experience or insight into is area?

I had it the other day from weapons fire from a python on a viper. Shields were 75% at the time.

Yep I was fighting a python too.

Iirc weapons like multi cannons have a chance of doing slight damage to hull through shields.

I haven't had it happen to me nor done it myself that I recall. Though I do like the idea of a weapon type damaging some through shields.

I'm pretty certain multi cannons don't. But not so sure the plasma accelerator doesn't. It might just be that weapon that can pierce shields.
