WTH - Station just killed for no reason.

I was landing a few seconds away from touch down and the station started shooting at me. I checked warrants and crimes, I was clean. I had no cargo..All I do is trade runs to and from the same station. I take off with a load of cargo (about 750,000cr worth in my ASP) and the station blows me out of the sky, WTH?

Is this a bug? Is there some ghost crime I have committed?

I want my day in court and my money back (in game of course :)

It is enough to make me turn pirate.

I am one unhappy customer, can anyone explain to me what might have happened?

I suspect you've been griefed. Many posts about this today.

Some hilarious comedians have found a way to make your Point Defence Turrets shoot the station (if you have them), and therefore the station shoot you.
.
If not that, it could be that someone triggered the station to attack them, but positioned themselves so that you were in the way of the station guns.

It seems from another post on this forum that if someone sneaks up behind you and attacks you as you are docking, the station will immediately fire all their lasers at the attacker. If you happen to be between the lasers and the attacker though.....well that is not gonna finish well for you. the attacker loses a cheap sidewinder, you lose an asp.

I imagine they will fix this, presumably they can install and "I-win" button in the station that can simply explode the aggressor without catching the innocent in the crossfire.

Or maybe do a line of sight check on the station guns - you know, fix it properly!

The station should get a 200Cr fine when it shoots you, a wanted status and should attack itself.

OMG I was just about to deliver my mission/500 cargo and the Station blew itself up!!!!11! I demand compensation!

Then we would get post like: Station just blew itself up when i docked and I went boom! WTH!?!?!??!

I sold my point defense system prior to reading this and will only play solo from now on. to bad but the game does not support a friends list or any systems that make playing with my buddies any fun. I am becoming more and more unhappy/disappointed with the game.. to the point of wishing I didn't back it, but I'll hold out on that opinion for a bit longer and see where the next big release goes.

Dont enter docks slowly. Master the art of docking fast. Easy in a Viper. Harder in a T7. Use landing gear at letterbox to slow down and time 0% throttle to stop you at the ramps. I fly into my dock, i never use thrusters. Ive it at a fine art now. :) I can even fly it in sideways with AA off and backwards. I do these things to take the grind out of trading.

I also boost out of small ports like a rocket in my viper. 4 pips engines, Pull stick back, raise gear, hit boost, full throttle. Immature I know but it amuses me.

The weird thing is that I have had this exact thing happen to me, but in Solo play! I was simply leaving the station and flying away. No Bounty / illegal cargo etc.
I just assumed it was an NPC Pirate that killed me, but then it said the Station destroyed me.
So the bug definitely exists / did exist.
(It was about 2 weeks ago.)
