Haven't seen any. Then again don't expect to see any 500ly from nearest inhabited system... then again haven't seen any when travelling to/from civilization either
I found (what I thought to be) an abandoned space station last night. When I investigated further, I happened upon a particularly nasty looking creature with twin jaws and acid for blood! It was roaming the corridors, killing the few remaining survivors, so I left quick-smart.
It's a shame because that would at least give the universe a little hint of depth. On the flip side it's easy to rationalise: stations are expensive things so get salvaged or if totally unrecoverable, their orbits allowed to degrade. There are a few outposts out there with wrecked pads which is a nice step in the right direction but flying through a derelict station would be fairly spectacular
Just thinking about this and why not should there be deserted/haunted or just broken old space station's that are just left to decay because the regeneration is just too expensive. Also they would be a good end game if you could acquire a ''Home'' from which to base your ''Wing'' or ''Squadron'' if you have more mates. Plus the combined effort needed by a Wing to rebuild a docking bay would be a good mechanic to play for I think.............ideas chaps..????
Yes something like an old Orbital maybe, that only has one or two pads working, also systems that sell and regenerate such modules to rebuild a docking pad.
I wondered about this the other night. I have been doing a load of missions for a faction that now have 91% control of the system. It says they are in boom but they still have a fairly crappy space station. I was hoping they would upgrade to something a bit swisher but I guess this is not in the game yet. Shame.
