Newcomer / Intro Favourite Elite moment so far

1. seeing other CMDRs from my PVE group in game for the first time and having a hilarious time with them
2. getting my SOL permit and visiting Earth, Saturn, and Jupiter for the first time
3. my first profitable bounty hunting runs

Flying back to Abraham Lincoln at Sol ... brought back some memories :)

Note to Michael: When we can land on Planets, Big Ben needs to show correct time again.
(to those new to Elite, in FE2 if you flew to Big Ben in London, it actually showed the correct time as per your PC)

1) Docking in MacMillan station for the first time after getting my Achenar permission. That station is SO awesome!

2) Jumping to the twin-star system 5000LY from home. Didn't check my direction and the FSD flushed me from the witchspace too close to the star - and right into the gravity well of the twin. DAT PANIC as I was escaping the hell with heat at 250%, my hull vaporizing before my eyes. Phew.

I just had one(can't have just one) of my favorites. Someone turned me on to an easy way to find USS's and I was doing so for pirate mission. I found 3 in one USS and they attacked me for I had a couple prototypes. They knocked my shields out before I could use cells, so I ran for the hills, er... stars until shields came back online. I turned back with 80% hull at let loose! I was worried but determined to get one down and work from there.

I had 2 eagles and a sidewinder which made it tough to get around on the Eagles at first but finally knocked the first one out and it was all but over by then. I haven't done much fighting but that was fun. I almost H-spaced the F outta there but very happy that I stuck through it and came out victorious! 3/5 pirates down, 2 to go...

Believe it or not my favorite moment was while fighting in a planetary ring I smacked an asteroid really hard in my Cobra. Knocked me down to 5% hull and blew out my canopy. Had 5 minutes to make it back to the outpost without HUD because my windshield was gone. Did it with 40 seconds to spare.

My favorite Elite moment thus far has been shutting it off, and waiting for it to mature and become an actual game as opposed to the empty and lifeless experience it is right now.

SC above a giant planet ring. Wow what a view. Passing the terminator line seeing the star rise through the dust lanes. And finally diving into it for some mining. This game is something else.

/HC

It was finding-out that the planet rings were actually individual rocks floating about in space, not just a pretty texture-map on a circle. Wow!

Just got my Cobra.

Entered a USS.

Authority vessels fighting a criminal.

Killed the criminal with the help of the police.

Noticed he dropped canisters during the battle.

Checked what they were and found they were slaves. High profit. Free money. I'm having those but there are coppers around...

Police scanned me "we're done here pilot move along". Not without my free money matey.

Shut down all non-essential modules. Cooled down dissappeared off the radar.

Police thought I left and jumped out.

All modules back on, scooped up those poor slaves, sold them on the black market.

the sound my Viper makes
MY brand spanking new bare naked ASP the HERE KITYKITY, which will give me hours of great fun, on my way to better things:) Love the game love the folks.

I just thought of something that makes me laugh every single time. When inside an orbiter and I hear the lasers go off and BOOM! I can't help to think that it's some poor n00b that forgot to ask permission or got stuck somewhere and frantically trying to get out and it's only funny because it's happened to me so many times!

I bet ED could run a constant stream on Twitch in a player-busy orbital and have record views. :)

I'd watch that Twitch stream...

When I first saw the transition between ring and rocks all I could think of was the last resting place a Ace Rimmer.

For me it was the progress I made in the first week.

Got the game running on Sunday evening, started a mission that pays a whopping 910Cr, almost twice my starting money. I was so elated at the sudden prospect of riches... then my network card died.
When I returned Monday I discovered that the mission had been extended and I got the money.

On Saturday I had enough credits to buy a Cobra or three and read the "ship sale is going to end soon" news. Since I was too lazy to fly the 80LY the the starter system I bought a Sidewinder and exploded it. Pod Express FTW.

From "OMG almost 200Cr! I am rich!" to casually blowing up 25kCr out of laziness in a week.

Seems a bit of an odd one this, but the other day a friend and I were hanging around near Fomalhaut when I asked him to sit his ship over mine, pointing towards me and switch his lights on. I couldn't believe his lights actually lit up my cockpit and the shadows moved around as he did.

Now that I tell this, it seems entirely trivial but I thought it was SO cool that the game is so, well, realistic.

Probably exploring a Black Hole for the first time. I refuse to spoil anything, but let's just say I LOVE what FD decided to do with them visually. At some point when I'm not in my fully exploration-kitted Asp, I'm going see what happens when you fly close enough to one to get yanked out of SC.... (and if you know the answer to this, please don't spoil it for me by posting in response).

"This is it! Last run of palladium on my T6 and the Asp will finally be mine! Just this last run!!! No shields, let the greed overtake me! This is the break or make run! I've waited weeks to get here!"

There I go...and of course, 10ls from arrival, I got interdicted... "another NPC...tired of these guys...good thing I can always overrun them!"....

It just happened it wasn't an NPC: a "Stop now or I'll kill you" written in perfect human showed up in my comm. Third encounter ever with a human, and happens in this circumstances -and I always play open!

Now, I'm sweating like a pig in a split second. Then he passed over me: big, bad @ss and beautiful Imperial Clipper, all shiny..."If he scans me, I'm done: all that Palladium will be gone and so all my savings and capital"...Back then, I thought he could blow up my ship and keep ALL the cargo...have I known better, I would have stopped and chat, and give him some...

But ignorance is the mother of all fools, and so, I boosted at full throttle...like a maniac....like for my life! zig zagging, flip-flops, up and down.."when the heck is the FSD gonna be ready??? Disruptive my butt, I need to escape NOW!!!!!"...one shot, half my hull down....two shots, I'm at 20% hull left..."OMG, OMG..not now, not like this!"...

"in 3..2...1....engage"...

10 seconds later I exited SC, with the certainty he would jump out of it right behind me...station in front of me, 9km out...HUD not working very well, there are sparks everywhere -not a good sign...

I landed...hardly alive...my hand stuck to the joystick long after the pad lowered into the hangar...

This is Elite Dangerous...
