The low hanging fruit

Probably also mentioned, but...

Give a reason why 'Docking Request Denied'. Options could be:

"We're full up, please wait"
"We can't land anything of your size Big Boy"
"You have been denied access because you're an enemy of our faction"
"Tower Commander is having a bad day"
"I don't wanna"

conflict zones should be around stations, and one faction hunting tradeships.
because it would be logical that if an armed force wants tot ake over an systhem they would try to deprieve it of trade and they would go for the military asssets not some random spot somewhere in the systhem.
Traders then could try them self in blockade running and the stations off course offer them 20% over market price (ususal prices) for there wares.

I know it is bad to have fun for stinky traders but it could add to the game play! and maybe traders hiring theese escorts and no wings needed!

I'd like to see some better way to show the types of things displayed in the Navigation Pane, so that when I jump into a system I can select my preferred destination quickly. Things scroll by far too fast so I find myself repeatedly doing scroll-stop-scroll-stop with liberal doses of "Have I gone past it?". They could make the background of the horizontal bars different shades, e.g. unexplored is blank/dark, stations are highlighted white(ish)/pale, with other types somewhere in between. Just lately I find myself on time-critical runs and I really could do with spending less time faffing around scrolling through huge lists of places I don't want to go.

+1.

"Open the pod bay doors please HAL"

Option to have audio feedback on actions that dont currently have it e.g. "chaff released", "shield cell deployed" etc
There is audio feedback (these actions do make a characteristic noise).
I think the first X game had a 'verbose' setting and 'normal' setting for the ship AI.

If you want to have voice feedback on an action then try one of the various voice activated software solutions. There you can configure/add voice feedback.

the pitch black conditions in Asteroid Rings around Gas Giants/Planets can be deadly !
Yes. Creamed my Cobra three times yesterday in one of these. Alternatively just make the ship lights reach out 1km or so (but I'm pretty sure that would be mighty processor intensive).

Yes and yes to greater variety of enemies at RESs. There really seems to be 3 options:
1. Sidewinder instance (200cr to 3000cr each)
2. Cobra instance (with a few wanted Sideys and Adders) 9k to 20k or more for the Cobras.
3. Anaconda instance. 90k and more Anacondas over and over.

I'd love to see more variety like at a Nav beacon: Wanted Dropships, Clippers, Vipers, Pythons, Freighters etc (killed a 9k Type 7 last night at Altair's Nav Beacon) but without the slow-paced randomness of Nav Beacon spawns.

Better missions descriptions, on the bulletin board both before you accept it and when you've completed it. AND, in the transaction menu. I hate that you don't see who your client is in the transaction menu.

Let me have free look in the hangar. I want to study my ship.

Let me have that special mission from the appointed contact in the system i just got a permit to.

Let me know why I should risk my neck and my wallet and kill federal authority vessels in a mission given to me by a federal faction?????

remove all missions that are considered illegal from the bulletin board. (criminal activity isn't usually announced in public before they've happened). Let there be a shady character that offers these missions.

If you don't want to reward explorers with credits then reward them with recognition. Discovered by or explored in full by... Edit: I actually saw that this will be added in 1.1 and that's awesome!!!!

Let me become famous in my system, faction or station. I mean in correlation to the size of the population of that system. It could be something like this factions top fighter is, or best explorer och best trader and so on (also in correlation to the size of that factions population (in a small faction with about 20k of people it should be relatively easy to make fame)

Notify me when I reach another rank or when I get promoted in an allegiance.

Make people choose a side. It's stupid that people fly around with top ranks in both Empire and Federation.

And for the love of whatever faith you idiotically believe in make jettisoned cargo from pirates legal goods, and the artifacts found in USS's.

A lot of really great suggestions, +rep.

My list of 1-priority small changes:

- System map love (set destination, distance from sun/main star/CMDR's ship, bookmarks, notes, exit to main screen, etc)

- Galaxy map love (waypoints, all selected options saved, route saved and doesn't clear if you select next system manually or exit supercruise, etc)

- More ammo in rail guns (at least 50), cannons, multi-cannons

- Make rail gun charge automatically and the fire button do the firing only, or make it 2 stages triggers 1st stage charge the gun and the 2nd stage fire the gun (c)M.E.A.T

- Outfitting screen filters (by type, by class, show only **)

- Only 1 shield cell per ship (if it's not on the list already)

- "Wear & Tear" tweaks, cut amounts of reckless flying/collisions in stations, make ramming less an option (Less "wear & tear" from supercruise, More "wear & tear" from collisions (a lot more), Collision with another ship in No Fire zone and inside a station (or at least in letterbox) adds a hefty fine to all participants in that collision, no fines in anarchy systems)

- Sell All for cartographic data

- Do not reset scanned info about CMDRs/NPCs on supercruise/FSD. I understand that it cannot be without resets all the time (for ex.: CMDR can dock and sell/buy/clear bounty). But maybe reset in once in 60 min or when ship you have scanned enters a fight or docked.

And a few little bit bigger changes:

- System map more love (3D mode like this and CMDR's ship position and which way it's facing)

- Galaxy map more love (waypoints, round routes (first system = last system), save routes by waypoints (will recalculate for different ship/options), use saved route "from end to start", show which way ship is facing)

- More details in outfitting (better rounding, shield strength, max speed/boost, turn rate (blue zone, 360 pitch up), etc)

- Free cam in outfitting. Ship spinning, zooming.

- CMDR's journal (visited systems, discoveries, missions, bounties/fines/cleared, all reputation changes (detailed, with %), actions or participation in stating/supporting revolutions/conflicts/wars/etc...)

- Long range missions (for exploration, rare goods, etc)
