Why FD why ...?

Dear developers, I just accepted 2 missions for the Empire. Got to deliver some packages. Left the station, just SC to the system and lo and behold... You need to dock at an outside stupid station where I CANT DOCK! I fly a Clipper you see... I have a Viper and a Cobra ready at my first station. But I can not transfer goods. I can accept missions that I can not finish that is obvious. So please can u tell me why I get offered missions I can't finish because I can not transfer goods? So there goes my Allied with the Empire. Screw them, I will go Fed cause I allready got my Clipper and probably they will nerf this one too together with the Python. Disappointed... And don't tell me there are enough chances to get allied.

Heh. If you look at the system and station you're travelling to, you could've known your larger ship wasn't able to land. Pretty sure that's cut and dry (at the very least you know larger ships cannot dock at outposts, I'm not 100% sure if you can always tell beforehand).

The game has to leave you to do some decision making or you wouldn't need a controller.

Another problem with missions? Shocking.

I suppose a work around would be to buy a sidewinder just to deliver the mission. I suppose you could also check what kind of station you are delivering to before you take the mission. Though it might be easier if the game just recognized what size ship you are in. Who knows, I expect we will see a lot of opinions about this.

One thing stands regardless. Fix missions. Thanks.

Easy to check for, if you remember of course, though it would be nice if the game made it obvious if your current ship would be unable to dock at the destination. I mean, who's going to hire someone to do a job they know they cannot complete.

Slight tweaks to warn the player would give us all warm and fuzzy feelings towards Frontier :D

Scoob.

Seriously dude, this has been done to death.. did it never occur to you to check the system you are flying to? For rank missions first thing I tend to use my smaller ships like the Cobra, before I hit accept I check two things, type of station and distance from the main star. you can buy the data if it's not already in the gal map.

I do think they should display outpost/station in the mission description, and also think they should allow transfer of cargo (at least for missions) But take an extra 30 seconds and pre-plan before you blast off into the void.

Given all missions are a jump away even from a Sidewinder, just do it, buy one, do the missions and then sell it back. Solved for now until they solve the available missions list per player ship.

Its even better

You cant buy a new ship with cargo in your current

YOu cant transfer to a second ship with cargo in your current

Cant even transfer cargo.

Stop blaming OP everyone.
The game doesn't let you take the mission if you don't have enough cargo space, so naturally one assumes it also checks if you can land there.
The game knows you can't land there, can't transfer the cargo to a ship that can, and that the mission is destined to fail, yet still lets you accept it without warning. Pretty immersion breaking if you care about that.

OP now knows the missions do not check your ship size, just cargo, and will work around it accordingly.

Devs need to do something about it, or we will continue to see threads like these regularly.

Has anybody tried this with mission cargo? I realize you can't with regular cargo, but mission cargo is different. Maybe it works.

to be fair, sometimes you dont know the system and cant get the details on it before going (its red and not clickable)... so i agree, if its at an outpost, it should maybe at least be marked as "Outpost <Name> instead of "Station <name>", then you know at least it may not have a landing pad for large ships.. i dont think FD needs to totaly get rid of the missions from the log though with a check on the shiup first, because what if i want to grab the mission then buy a sidewinder to complete it..

it happened to all of us! you should have checked where delivery is to take place and change ships or not accept mission.

That's why you open the mission and then switch to navigation panel and check out the destination first before accepting it! ;)

While I'm all for personal responsibility, remember that this is ultimately a computer game. Having to do this every time isn't much fun.

I could imagine the pilot giving you the mission details going "You will need to dock an outside stupid station."

I'll take your life and family, you can have my family, my data analyst position and complete my double major in physics and mathematics. Then you can tell me you don't have time.
