Anyone know what happens if you emergency dump out of sc at max speed on your way to hutton? I think I might take the trip in a spare ship just to see if you leave a really long trail of wreckage as your ship is torn apart.
I might have to pull out my calculator to see what kind of forces you and your ship would experience with such a deceleration. Anyone good with physics out there? Don't know what max sc speed is, something like 1200c?

Pretty sure you top out at around 2000c.
Update - Took the time to get a sidewinder up to 1900c (give or take) on the way to Hutton, and after emergency dropping from supercruise, 96%hull left. I'm not going into hyperdrive theory or anything right now, but I'm guessing they've picked their model for faster than light travel. Either way, I feel FD has done a damn good job on traveling in this game.
But still doesn't compare to hitting 88mph with a flux capacitor.

Since when do your knees have anything to do with your flying? Hell, My feet don't work right when I'm drunk, but I can still pilot a ship just fine. Asides from the rare brushing up against other things. That are stationary. And usually brushing against kinda hard. Well, more like veering recklessly into. Bah, silly feets.

I'd love to know how they're doing that. 2hrs 15mins was my travel time in a Viper topping at just over 1500c.
The hard part is getting people to take the time to get there. But hey, I'm all for it. I say we threaten Hutton with destruction unless they give everyone who fly's there a bit more incentive. . . ..... Perfect idea. It's where all the specialty weapons went. Overpowered, scattershot, accurate, what have you.
Anyways, this is the second time I went. Once because I didn't know, and the second just because I wanted to see if dropping out of sc at high speed did anything different. (Check my previous post for results). So now I have 2 "Been to Hutton Orbital" mugs sitting on my dash. And they are both perpetually chilled (gotta love the space age), so my beer is always ice cold. Or space cold. Or whatever, it's just good.
I would have been happy if they just gave out some souvenirs or something. Doesn't have to be anything expensive or advantage giving, just something a bit special to show you've been there .
