Zoo Tycoon Will we get an animal list before launch?

I know there's a few Frontier folk lurking about the boards and I'm hoping someone can answer.

Will we get a list of the animals we can have in the game before it launches next month?

Thanks
E

As long as my cobra Mk III can house a white fluffy cat, complete with diamond necklace, for those 'spin around and greet' moments in the game, Ill be happy.....

Also facilities to cater for flossy my pet sheep.... I like to knit on those long exploration journeys. Its cold in space..... a wooly jumper works wonders.

And going off topic, Im also taking a Buzz Lightyear toy for my dashboard, the one with the wobbly giant head....

....sorry, what was the question again...?

Hi FaviousM,

Any public information that we share about Zoo Tycoon needs to come publicly from Microsoft first, so it's really up to them whether they release the full list of animals before release or not. Sorry that we cannot help you with this request.

SO thats a no then?

I dont care so much for the list but I would like to see what the differences are between xbox 360 and xbox one

Since they're skimping the animal list for 360 to push xbone sales it wouldn't surprise me to see the more popular animals such as tigers and lions exempt from that version.

There is a difference, my friend, between focusing on a system, and complete idiocy. Most likely, they'd give the 360 two tigers (My bet Bengal and Siberian), while 1 has 4 (Those two, Sumatran and Indo-Chinese).

Zoo Tycoon 2 had 30 animals and it was fun to play with, well before the expansion packs. So, let's see how the game goes before we start complaining like Transformers Fans that the game is RUINED FOREVER

EDIT:

I've since edited out my post given that we now know that Wal-Mart has the timed exclusivity on the physical disc release in the United States through the end of the year and that the digital version will be available on Xbox LIVE and possibly other retailers.

Still disappointed at Microsoft's lack of promotion and detail about this awesome looking game.

Hi XboxOneSimulator,

We have had a few people mention the lack of availability in the US and we are looking into it, ultimately though distribution and promotion falls outside our remit as the developer. Rest assured though that any issues with distribution will not impact the quality of the final game and the team here are working extremely hard to add as much polish as possible to it before release.

We will update everyone on the distribution situation should we hear anything.

Well one hundred is over 60....

BUT when they say this do think they mean genuine interactive animals with environments or are they counting like that lemur the zoo keeper holds in the video.

Eg you cant get lemurs foryour zoo in a exhibit but here is a zoo educator with a lemur therefore this counts as one for the list

If they were both over 100, then they wouldn't deliberaly go out of their way to say 65+ vs 100+. It's likely that it's more than 65 but less than say 70 or 80 or whatever. It gives them some leeway in case they change things up or the marketing team doesn't have a definitive number.

It's also likely describing animals you can choose since the Xbox One description says, "choosing from over 100 visually stunning animals" rather than something you cannot put in a zoo. Even if there is some Lemur on your shoulder or other animal type like a parrot they could let you be able to use that species in your exibit.

At this point we are NOT likely to get a definitive list for either platform unless they send out review copies and in the case of the Xbox One a console as well. Even then, the reviewer/player would likely also have to 100% beat the game to even get all the animals. ...and there is the issue of any possible review embargo before launch.

Perhaps if Prima or Brady comes out with a Strategy Guide for this game we can get a better understanding of what is available but even then that list may be inaccurate.
