Newcomer / Intro Cant Clear a Wanted Marker

Hi guys,
Yes probably another noob question but I have been given a bounty of 200 credits on me because a security ship CRASHED INTO ME (yes i do mean that, from behind he went into me in a straight line) while i was engaging a pirate ship.

Now I been driving around Eravate for the last 30 mins trying to find a place where I can pay to clear my bounty but NOWHERE WILL LET ME, and every time I go to a nav beacon to do some ratting the security ships try to kill me.

Can anyone PLEASE help me clear this stupid bounty as I am not loosing my ship for 200 credits that I WANT to pay - I have been to every station in Eravate (the wanted bounty is with Independent Eravate Free).

DEV's: A polite note: This game has a real tendency to lean towards the unnecessary and time wasting. I get that you want an immerseive sim but really does this sound right to you:
Player is crashed into by NPC, causing bounty with no clear directions on how to pay. Player spends better part of 30-45 mins trying to pay bounty (THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT ON IN THE FIRST PLACE) and still cant do it - Is this really the game you are looking for, does this sound 'fun' to you?

1) Tone down the NPC reaction to getting clipped from time to time, especially collisions in a dog fight - this is not reasonable and they should expect to be clipped by accident from time to time.
2) This game is in urgent need of some sign posting and less time wasting - it may shock you to note that I DO NOT enjoy spending high percentages of time in supercruise/hyperdrive or whatever it is.

I think there's a bit of a bug on this at the moment, several Cmdrs have said that they can't clear the bounty, yet when they log out then back in again it's gone.
Happened to me too, however I don't know if this is the problem your having, you need to find a platform (not station) within the faction you picked up the fine. Dock go to contacts, Local Authority, and pay off the fine to clear it.

Been to several stations in different systems, docking at stations that said "wanted", above them in the system map list.

Can dock just fine, but cannot pay off the fine/ bounty on me anywhere.
It all says i have no fines or anything like that, but they (in this case fed police) keep shooting me anyway should i encounter them in a, so far especially, random unknown encounter locations.

Dont get shot at anywhere else so far..

Yep, I had this a couple of nights ago. Picked up a (valid) fine at a RES, and then couldn't pay it back in several stations at multiple systems. Logged off, logged on and the fine had vanished. The fine was caused by an erroneous cross-fire shot and I wonder if FD are starting to play with the detection logic but haven't yet completed it.

just a quick clarification as this is confusing some people: logging off to the main menu does nothing to fix the issue, the fine/wanted status will still be there. what you need to do is completely close down the client (and possibly the launcher as well) and log in like you had just started the game from the shortcut. only then will the fines/wanted status be cleared.

Thanks for the clarification - thought I was going mad! Still waiting to meet my first CMDR in Mobius...it's quiet out there.
