If you backed Elite I would assume you played enough to figure out how to play.
Let me tell you how many times I've been punished in game.... zero.
This game is quite frankly easy mode. I didn't back it, but I play SMART.
HAND. HOLDING. IS. NOT. FUN. OR. GAMEPLAY.
Now instead of complaining after you died because of something you did, most likely without insurance, instead learn and don't do it again!
Only if they don't care about the game at all. We've all played terrible games and simply walked away.
Fans of ED on this forum need to control their insecurities and stop getting upset when people have negative things to say. There's problems with ED, a lot of them. Lack of content, bugs, you name it. People are going to notice and that's okay.
The worst part of the community are those that try to silence criticism.

Problem is that I *don't* agree with you. ED has lot of content, and lot of stable things which work (and it nowhere implies I don't want to see more content and more stable things). It is not about insecurity, but seeing things differently. It seems there is group of people trying to make their POV 'de facto' in forums, pushing more moderate and balanced voices out.
Most of such threads must be left alone. People fail to connect with game for various reasons, and looking for blame is never pretty - and also not very objective.
All good and valid points raised by the OP. A tad negative perhaps but still quite true. It pretty much sums up why I have not played the game for a couple of weeks and have been spending my time playing Arma 3.
I'm looking forward to the various updates to ED though, I hope they make the game more enjoyable.

It's okay if you enjoy what's here, but you have to be realistic if you want to interact with others. Maybe you think it's got a lot of content, and that's fine, but obviously other people are going to notice the incredibly small variety of things you can do in the game. Aliens, groups, all kinds of content is still mia so it's nowhere near completion.
My point is people who get angry (not you) when others notice the current state of the game. It's silly.

No, there is no fanbois ( a word used exclusively by trolls btw), there are a lot of fans that in a way or another contributed to the game. We like the game. We don't want the game to become something OP might enjoy and like because there is already a lot of crap that you all can go and play

well, still the execution is really poor.
the current game is still a beta, bounty brokens, no logoffsky prevention, hackfest, missions are bugged all over te place, docking computer bugged, no tools to support trading, balancing between activity non existant, route planner completely ......

Alpha player here (but aren't we all? lol). There is an extremely strong fanboy presence on this forum, more so than most games which is saying something.
Marketing made them release the game too soon I think. It's happened before, it will happen again. Elite is a good start but is woefully incomplete and we all know it. There is no point in getting angry at people who notice or have issues with what they bought. They paid for an alpha thinking it was a release, obviously there's going to be backlash when that happens.
If you can't handle reading criticism, you are on the wrong forum because it's not going to stop anytime soon.

The problem lies in the last sentence in the OP's post and the title. I have a job to pay the bills, no choice on that, I play ED for fun/relaxation if I get bored of it I move quietly on and maybe come back later if I feel like it...I have a choice
Most reasonable members of this forum have no real issues with suggestions, debate and discussions about the rights and wrongs of ED. The problem is when either someone posts to say 'this MUST change or else' or 'game is broken, I quit', it tends to reflect negativity right back at them.
Many a good post, with reasonable suggestions, is ruined by such statements leading to reasonable discussion being replaced with polarized negativity. This does no one any good and certainly does nothing to enrich the ED experience.
ED is just taking it's first steps on a long road and hopefully it will not falter and I hope it will become the game I think it can be, it isn't there yet by a long way.
Games like EvE and WoW bear little resemblance to what they were like 10 years ago, I seem to remember EvE getting slated by reviewers but it has matured and grown into what we now see....Patience is the key to this type of game that relies heavily on continuous development and it will not be finished until the servers close

It's gonna stop when it runs out of trolls, same way it did in the past.
New blood and the end of suspensions will create this effect now and then but eventually people will move to other games to hate, as they usually do

Personally, I'd rather not tell everyone to quit. That's the worst possible solution to the problem imo.
Again, you can't blame people for having problems with the game. It's got a lot of problems. It's got a lot of potential too, which is why I hope it stays relevant and profitable. As things stand now, I'm not sure that will be the case long term. I am still hopeful.
Ships and outfitting have made impressive progress, but trading is stuck in 1984.
