Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

I am delighted by this.
Thank you, Soda.

I recommend that everyone subscribe to this channel as it reports more than just the official Galnet feed and is a useful resource in general.

Cheers.

boom in HR is a result of doing any mission for the dukes. looking at the mission chart most missions have influence & economic boom as a result.

people should concentrate on the missiobs with a specific negative outcome for the non-mikunn factions.

such a shame i can only observe the progress from the forums...

I just completed 20 missions. It took me cca 3 hours. Let's say it is average (a lot of these mission are courier missions).
On the mission list there is 14 of us. If half of that is active every day, it means we complete around 7 x 20 =140 missions per day. That is 7 x 3 =21 hours of playing every day for our Dark friend. That is a lot of coffee if he is alone :)))
I think that the problem of losing influence is that we don't control the trade yet.

It's not as if there's very much to choose from - going to all three hr stations usually gets me round about 5-8 fetch missions and 3-5 data transfer missions. Kill missions I have to ignore in my t6.

Perhaps I'll switch back to the cobra and do kill missions instead.

I did 40 missions last night and chased Mysteron around HR. It was a productive evening.

I did few more missions
20 from HR
3 to HR
23 missions for the Dukes in total this evening.

I did 3 missions for HR Dynamic. That improved me from Hostile to Unfriendly, So now they tolerate me, but just that. Maybe I shouldn't put on my ship how many victories I made in HR :D. At least they don't shoot on site any more.

I've noticed at result of some missions in HR (like donation of weapons to the Dukes) that Kwatee Something Party also made some progress out of it.

I assassinated 5 anacondas today, that made me allied to the dukes. I also did quite some courier missions and a "fuel the war" mission.

Many untracked missions completed in the last couple days... perhaps two dozen couriers, eight small hauling, a dozen assassinations, a handful of mercenary contracts, distribution, and donations. A few of those were in the name of the HR 7327 Commodities organization prior to a proper introduction to the Dukes.

So, I traded out my Cobra, and picked up an Asp. I've outfitted it to carry 116 tons and have been picking up 10-30 food/slave/tech fetch missions from Mikunn before I make a major run to fulfill them. Been mostly doing a loop with HIP 93685-Gandones-Virus. I made 8 trips today, hit Allied after trip two, have been just adding to the boom ever since.

Couple of thoughts/questions:
1. I dropped in on an USS in MIkunn, there were 4 ships there, all Duke boys. Two started scanning me for cargo, I figured I was ok since I had "friendly" status, but I started to boost away just in case... when one fired on me. I figured he started it, I'll finish... so i blasted him to space dust. Even though he attacked me, my rep with the Dukes showed a red arrow. I guess we can't shoot down anyone with the Dukes or suffer the consequences?

2. I was filling up to 6-7 slave fetch missions per trip, but the result to the Dukes was not always the same on delivery. It was a bit random how it would affect famine, influence, civil unrest, boom. Liquor/Beer/Wine are hit and miss as well... missions can affect lockdown, civil unrest, influence. Should we be avoiding these missions because the results are not predictable?

3. Now that I've spent a day getting in good with the Dukes, should I move on to the HR system and start doing missions from there only? Or are the missions in Mikunn having an effect on the influence of the Dukes in HR as well?

BTW, anybody making runs to Virus for slaves... prepare yourself to be intercepted. I got chased every trip, and in one trip they nailed me three times. They're really aggressive there. Good place to go if you want to have a bit of fun though...

(1) Don't fire on Dukes ships unless they have a bounty.

(2) Doesn't matter so much because everyones positive effects will out weigh the occasional negative in Mikunn. Just make sure you don't focus on the weird ones.

(3) Focus on Dukes missions given in HR now, or Dukes missions that take place in HR

So... super new and not really sure what I'm doing . You the kind of group that can help me get settled in? I'm new(ish) to forums as well so please excuse any lack of etiquette (I most likely just don't know any better). How can I join up?
