Newcomer / Intro Controls weird out during combat.

Hello,

This happens during combat occasionally, and usually when I'm lining up that sweet kill shot. Doesn't matter what controls I pressing at the time, but all of sudden I'll go into super-free look mode. My mouse will no longer control the ship, I'll just look around in my cockpit, and the HUD will become skewed. The only way to resolve the problem is to quit the game (if I can), with my opponent filling my bumbum with lead because I have no control...

Bug or did I smash the "Enter crazy Mode" button?

You hit the binding for "head look" mode. It's the middle mouse click (on the wheel) for me.

I have this occasionally because sometimes my mouse axes (I don't steer with a mouse at all) turn back on and the mouse slides a bit and suddenly I am gazing deeply into my own feet.
