My Anaconda blew up inside the station for no apparent reason - video inside

You know mitchman, do ticket it. I "just" lost 700+k due to my Anaconda SOMEHOW surviving the exact same event (83% hull left, shield gone, in solo mode) and I ticket it. No reason for you to not ticket it with 10M cr in losses...

1, If they can all players should run shadow play.

2, If for a minute I assume it is not a fault, Then I think you take damage to the under your bow. So a big ship coming up fast from pad 24 seems logical. It took our your sensors very quickly

3, 4 pips to shield when docking should be an SOP

Always at exactly 83% hull, right? :D Happened to me more times than I care to count. Expensive as heck to repair too.. around 700k ish.

no torp can take out a anaconda in one hit like this afaik

I saw what looked like missile tracks to the left of the screen, and it made me wonder if it was a hacker griefer. Other threads have posts about ppl shooting players in stations, even from just beyond the no shoot limit outside the stations, plus talk about changing the in-game damage levels.

If some other ship came up below me, it should show on the radar and most importantly the impact would give the collision sound effects. I don't think that happened. Watch the slow motion at the end of the video, nothing there seems to indicate a collision.

Yeah, that mystery 83% hull IF you survive in Anaconda, what's up with that?

What size shields did you use with the 83% damage? I use a A4 undersized shield, and I guess that same bug might kill me when it would otherwise take you down to 83% with a size 6 shield..

Point taken.

I have watched it about 10 times. it does look like you just blow up. A collision was my best guess after a fault in your ship or a bug in the game

It could be a NPC spawning at the spot where the ship is located, collision box loading faster than the 3d asset or something like that. I have seen (once) a NPC ship spawn right in front of me when about to enter the station (played in open).

Now that there, is an interesting theory.

Well... I actually have D4 shield....BUT I have 2-pip on SYS. I usually always put 4-pip to SYS for landing after my 1st random destruction event, but I was sleepy so I forgot (I forgot to ask permission too, so my landing was a 2nd try after I got fined for not asking landing permission). The boom when my ship lost shield and 17% hull sure woke me up though (was actually nodding to sleep as I approached the 2nd time lol)

Could be, which would just be a ridiculous bug. But this bug seems a bit like that :) I only have 18M left in cash so I'm a bit hesitant playing anymore and risk going completely broke next time ED decides to bbq my ship.

You mention your in a private group which pushes out my theory that there is a player in the same space but you can't see them due to P2P issues (but the server records you both)

UNLESS there is some kind of bug on the server side with the shared background and open and group leaking into each other. I've seen weirder bugs in the wild.

I watched carefully though - no ships around, no point defences going off nor the station firing at you - the ship just plain died. There a brief second where it looks like the shields also just go, but I suspect it's a red herring and just a symptom of the bug, not a cause.

Great to see that someone has managed to record this bug. I lost my Python to it 5 days ago (while in Solo Play). Ticket still pending, not yet processed, Status: new.

And Yes, this definitely is a bug. There is no valid reason to explain the destruction of an entirely undamaged, fully functional ship within a split second.

I'm just guessing here, but from what I can gather it happens the very same moment your landing gear is deployed.

Given that some people have said that landing gear has 0 hull, anything hitting them or getting stuck and such will cause destruction of ship?

Could that be it?

Yeah.. I got a bit more cash but I am saving to spend on military armor for both my clipper and python (75m total, what a joke). Once those are taken care off and I have 26M extra saved I will go back to my Viper/Cobra to reduce the stress level. Chance of losing 15M everytime I take off due to bugs is catching up to me...

Ouch. HUD just disappears and boom. Very strange. Left me wondering whether or not NPC ships spawn inside stations.

Edit: I see someone also had the same thought...

Yeah, I recommend all NVidia users with a capable gfx card to use shadowplay. It might every now and then freeze your computer (like once a week or something), but it's great for using the PVR to record these moments. If Frontier cares, then this happened around 5am UK time so they can look at logs from around that time, if they keep detailed logs on ship destructions. Would be interesting to know what the server believed happened here.

Wouldn't that also make you blow up if you have a hard landing? I know I've crash landed on the landing gear plenty of times with little or no shield loss.

I have a Python around too, so I guess I could sell it and take the 10% loss, but it's not tempting just to make up for bugs in the game.
