Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

The worrying point isn't that we are still losing vs Dynamic. The problem is this time Law party gained while we continued to lose influence.

Yup. Thats what we have been discussing. I don't know whats going on at this point. I feel like holding judgement until I actually play 1.1 though, on the off chance certain issues are fixed.

All my complaints with the game at the moment stem from poor feedback from elements in the game when the player performs an action. Does it do anything? I can't even draw a correlation between the game's results and the actions of large groups of players at the moment.

This may entirely be an inability to understand on my part. I'll sit on this a few weeks to make sure I understand what is really bothering me, and then I will write something up. I really don't know how I feel about our efforts at this point except a little confused, although the journey has been fun.

I'm pretty sure it's the increased traffic to the system, and subsequent trading by players visiting the system. We've seen a tripling in the number of ships visiting stations since the story hit Galnet. I'm pretty sure a good chunk of them are selling and buying in the market. The biggest gains have been with Dynamic Commodities, which makes sense, since they have 2 stations.

Another indicator is Dynamic Commodities went into Boom today. That means they've been getting more trade.

From what I have seen so far I don't believe you can go to boom by trade, you actually have to run missions for the faction. Which leads me to the following hypothesis: you guys are being trolled by an organized group.

That is why I kept the location of my background simulation experience quite so far, even if it means only gaining 2% influence a week (only 10% to go for a civil war :p)

Boom is triggered by high wealth and standard of living. I think trade does add to these values . Another question would be if a mission result says plus boom does it add to the state boom or those two values that trigger the boom.

All the neighboring systems mentioned in the press release to reroute commerce to are also in Boom. I doubt there's a secret concerted effort by players to put those into Boom. Pretty sure it's the increased commerce/traffic.

If we are really doing what we are saying, we complete 150+ missions per day easily. That group would have to do that much and more. If they have any kind of life (school, work, family, friends) they must be as big as us. And not one of them ever came here to laugh at our facees after all their hard work. Must be very childish and disturbed group of individuals :D
I don't believe in them without some real evidence.

Soda, how do you know that traffic went up 3 times? Traffic reports in stations?

Traffic report went up three times from an all time low.

At our beginning we were running about 250 ships per 24 hours, at our peak over the next few weeks it was 275.

After Micheal Brookes announced we were having bug issues we dropped all the way to 30 players over 24 hours.

At the start of our big push we increased to abour 45 to 50 ships per 24 hours, this is hard to measure though because right after this our bulletin was released over galnet and we jumped to 120 ships per hour. I have noticed an increase in activity over our teamspeak at least. So I believe we are contributing more than the 50 displayed just as our push started to ramp up.

Remember, your ship is counted everytime it re-enters the system.

Out of curiousity, was it 250 per 24 hours at the HR 7327 stations or just in Mikunn? The Gabriel and Friend numbers are close to 100 per 24 hours. Weekday is it at Hiraga? I can't dock there.

We know doing missions increases our influence. We know killing Law Party ships decreases theirs, as they had an increased drop in influence during the blockade (20th to 25th). When we were blockading, we dropped their influence at the expense of losing ours too, since we weren't doing missions. If we're worried about Law Party gaining influence, since it appears they've had their first gain (15.8 to 16.5) since the start of this (Mysteron says he's now supporting Law Party), I think we need to have some folks targeting Law Party ships. If you're running missions and are already hostile to Law Party, get some kills in while leaving the station. You can either shoot NPC traders or the station itself to bring in security vessels. The main thing is, I think we need to do both. We seem to have enough players to do so.

Then let's do both. We run missions and blockade the ports. Perhaps we can post here who's doing what so we can have a rough estimate of the percentage of attention we're focusing on.

At the very least, it would let us test this hypothesis. If our numbers improve, perhaps we're doing something right. If it doesn't work, something else is going on.

I use Gabriel station (Law Party) when ever I need to shoot some authorities. I'm trying not to be hostyle with HR Dynamic so I can land in their stations after 1.1
Blockading Law Party is no problem for me between missions.

It might be a good idea to break our group into "fleets" for different functions and commands. Assign pilots to a cause. Think "Fight Club". That way we can figure how many pilots it takes to screw in a lightbulb.

It also helps to break into timezone related squads. Because I play after 2AM eastern and Its so lonely in space. Not a place to raise your kids.

Until more people show up on the team speak there is no point to break people up into groups. There are people on at 2am eastern, but there aren't enough people on at anyone time to split into multiple groups. Nor is there multiple things we need to do. The only thing that needs to be done is missions, everyone knows that, but I'm not going to force anyone to do so. Neither will I push this group in the direction that people feel they need to follow marching orders to be included.

If people aren't pushing I'm going to assume that they don't want to. As for me I'm Mikunn through and through, I've hardly left since the game started. I'm just happy some people decided to join me.

Good points! I just don't think Mysterion will be the most organized nor the last opposition we'll deal with in the coming weeks. If we're going for media coverage on galnet, we're in for an uphill slog.

Edit: will do. See you out there!

That being said, we probably need some direction. You're the leader since you've started us all down this path. The group will listen to what you have to say.

Would you like us to focus on Blockades and Missions?

Only 5 missions tonight... I wanted to have some fun and I've done some bounty hunting in Gandones before bringing back some food for the dukes missions.
I don't go often on TS because of the sleeping beauty next door...

But what if we organized our own community events? Like dedicate a whole day to beating up mysterion? Or a time/place to practice PvP?

For those that want to follow specific orders there is the ComWatch, which currently states that we are focusing on missions. For those that don't want to do missions across HR or are just starting out there are "general objectives" listed there as well.

So for those that don't know, the primary objective is missions, though no one here will complain if you start shooting up Dynamic commodities vessels.

We have a community event going now and thats a push on as many missions as anyone willing can do. This is our second event, the first being blockades in HR. The bounties listed in HR 7327 are a testament to our first community event.

Only 10 missions tonight. I've been busy last few days.
Tomorrow evening I'll have more spare time.

And there is Boom in Kwatee if somebody missed it.
