Newcomer / Intro question about manual

Ive ordered my flight controller, a x52 pro, when it comes I will start the install of elite dangerous. My question is this, I have read the online manual at the website, ive read the pilots manual and guide from various postings, but nowhere do I see about the actual installation. Im a little confused, is there a menu to set graphics and sounds and type of joystick? where are these instructions? Plus I see refrences to pilot training such as flight, docking, combat but it only shows videos. Will I be able to actually fly in these trainer missions or is is just a video? Is there a separate place to click on to start those missions?
It probably will become clear to me when I get the actual game. But are there other docs?

Once you've downloaded the gamelauncher you can choose between logging in the game or try the 10 tourialmissions(I think it's 10 I haven't try them all my self)

And after you've chosen either the game or tourials you can select "Options" where you can choose both audio, Grafic as well as Joystick or Mouse+keyboard and you can customise the binding of your hardware as it suits you personal...

Anyway welcome to Elite Dangerous and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I am ;)

Ps.there are a lot of usefull threads in this forum for new players to look around while waiting for their gear to show up in the mail... :D

Once you install the game, you can change the settings for your joystick, graphics, sound etc., from within the game itself.

You will also see on the launcher to run tutorial missions. Do these before you start the game proper and you'll have less painful and expensive flights! :)

Hey, try playing mouse/keyboard whilst waiting for your stick - works great for me!

There are some official videos on the Elite site, and plenty of player-made ones (YouTube etc.). Same for training manual: an official one on-site, and loads of player-made examples.

The game comes with a set of tutorials, where you fly yourself.
