Commanders beware, deploying your landing gear can destroy your ship.

Hello fellow commanders,

Just to let all of you know... be very careful. I just took off after the hotfix in my Anaconda, set my destination as usual, approached station, exited supercruise, set throttle to zero, deployed landing gear 4 km. from the station, no ships or anything nearby... and my Annie spontaneously exploded. Nothing nearby, no overheating, absolutely nothing. 21 million credits bye bye...

I've said this before and people called me crazy... but i'll say it again! - There is a link with the landing gear being deployed!

If it's any consolation nutter, there's been plenty discoverers of things who were called crazy and it was years after their death that their pearls of wisdom were appreciated :)

Not going to lie, after these threads, I flinch eeeeevery time I lower my landing gear. D: Every. Single. Time.

"Landing gear-" "GWAH!" "-deployed." "Oh, thank GOD."

I have had this happen a few times and the only thing I can thing of/remember that connects them all was deploying the landing gear. So I think you may be right Commander :)

Well yeah. My problems don't end there. I am at a station where I can't downsize any of my internal compartments, because they simply don't have them, I have less than 8 million credits left after the rebuy (I had just bought 8a power supply for 162 million) and I'm petrified to leave this station uninsured. If I blow up again, it's game over. I'm not a newbie to this game, I haven't crashed a ship since my type 6, scraped almost 500 million credits out of trading, I know what I am doing. But this bug totally ruins my game experience. I love this game to bits, but I'm stuck here. I would totally appreciate some help or at least a response from a dev...

by a sidewinder for the time being until hearing from the devs, dont take the risk!

Had any of you guys or gals boosted on approach as you drop landing gear. That scenario seemed to be quite common for ppl reporting this issue just after release. I've also popped for no reason after boosting and dropping gear. I no longer boost on approach but I still drop gear at about 5km. Haven't popped since but that means little

That might just be the case, Kalearne... I believe I boosted, but that was at least a few seconds before I deployed. Anyway, I'm just going to buy a hauler and slowwwwwwly try to make my money back until I get a reply to my support ticket like a good boy :)
