PD-turret shoots down your own missiles in 1.1

Nerf dumbfire missiles they said. Point defence needs to be smarter they said. Problem solved. Shoot down your own missiles! Now that's one smart PD turret. Oh I do love a good bug. Funnier is better. Glass of wine and a hotfix release.

Somebody should write a news feed piece for GalNet about how a new software upgrade by the system's manufacturer caused the issue.

Put it into the news feeds and it becomes a part of the lore, and everyone will get a chuckle.

+1, better make the best of it!

I do indeed - I've found them

Michael

While you guys are fixing this can you make sure they always fire forward while you are at it? I haven't fitted them since I found out the fired backward a week after release. Which was day 1 for me, also been reported several times.

I've got 4x launchers and 3 x PD fitted.

Only for defence of course. My 2x beams are a deterrent for you in case you are considering not dropping cargo right now! 1...567 fire!

I gave it a go at distance 500

4 missiles (heatseekers) PD no reply

700/900 same

Not a problem for me.

Good job, as always FD.

This is intended behaviour I believe and mentioned in the docs. It wasn't happening before just because dumbfire missiles were immune to being intercepted

Actually no. It was reported in Beta 1.1 and confirmed (IIRC) that your own missiles should not be fired upon by your own PDS.

This really shouldn't happen. Come on devi, there's Agile and then there's Common Sense. You need to start using both and calling these things out. Surely there's a RAID log you guys can wave in front of decision makers?
