PD-turret shoots down your own missiles in 1.1

yeah point defense systems seem a bit eager now, kinda funny if unfortunate for missile users.
Before 1.1: Hey dumbfire missile you want to hit the ship? go right ahead.
After 1.1: Missile, shoot it shoot it shoot it!

clearly missing IFF feature

What a complete and utter cluster duck! Are FD quackers! I mean really even the US would not field antimissile systems that target there own stuff....

Of course not. We take it a step further and create a PDS system that doesn't always work. They call it the CWIS. The designers and military brass designated it as 'Close In Weapons System', but the people that have to use it to defend themselves came up with a more accurate description.

Crap! It Won't Shoot!

Overachieving at underperformance is how weapons contractors make their money after all. :D

I stand corrected...
I forgot the US does have a bit of a record for friendly / unfriendly fire...

You wanted Missile Nurfs because they were OP.. We did.. now you dont want them nurfed.... you can never please the online community! ;)

So when I read this I did a bit of a face palm, I was preparing to defend FD in another thread and then saw this one and kinda thought yeah, I'll stay quiet right now then!!! I sat back, thought about it and then thought how funny it really is. When I watched the video I couldn't help but see the funny side.

Yeah its a bug and it's symptomatic of many many issues that are mundane and boring.... but bloody hell it's funny.... and funny makes me happy, so I'll not hold this one against FD ;)

this happens when the executive producer begins in such a state of development to copy paste exploration stats from the game database into the forum...

I'm OK with this. Missiles are for the weak.

Since dumbfires can't lock and thus don't have a target, it seems shady at being able to pick out missiles with defense turret. I don't think the turret should attack anything not maintaining a lock.

as this has been reported & confirmed: makes me wonder what´s the point in public betas if bugs like that going into a release build against better judgement.
ridiculous. facepalm.gif

I didn't believe this when I saw it last night and frankly, I still have difficulties.

Last year's Ubisoft fiasco pile-up has already been thrown the gauntlet. And it's only February!

In all seriousness Frontier, there are other ways to steal a spotlight you know!

Tbf this is one of the most hilarious bugs there's ever been... These new PDTs must be made by Amnesty International

It's not only missiles by the way. I noticed my mines disappearing immediately when i was defending myself against a pirate. Looks like it eats mines as well.

This is on our priority list to fix in an update.

Michael

Put it in GalNet as a PD system product recall on faulty PD's.

Raised a ticket on the Python Decal bug. (left decal doesn't show, right decal shows both sides). Doesn't happen on my Anaconda, so not a general bug. Time to issue the "L" and "R" wellingtons to somebody!!
