this game is just a shallow docking simulator

Sometimes i wonder if this is just a very elaborate docking simulator..

The only viable way almost is to grind trading and hope for a mission that doesn't pay peanuts and bores you completely out.
It's all very high effort/risk for very low reward and not too scalable, tried upping the reputation in hopes for better missions.... nope

Combat okay i guess but not too satisfying, an example: just accepted a run of the mill warzone mission for yet again low reward it went well till some guy swooped in and kill stealed his way for his mission,... most games calculate and reward the damage done in this age, just saying.

But the moment supreme happened when a python shot my shield and an npc eagle flew right into my cobra at _slow_ speed killing me instantly, either the collision damage is set either way too high or these ships in elite are made of cardboard and ducktape, reinforced armor my %£¨*

also still waiting for more content, still not worth it's price in my humble opinion and 4 billion generic systems make for a very shallow ocean indeed.
Still don't recommend it to friends at this state

Thanks for hearing me out, I hope it gets better.

You have Python? yeah right. Look you don't have to like the game, but if you have a Python (which I doubt), then you know the game is far more than a Docking Simulator. After all, assuming you are telling the truth, why would you play a game for soooooooooooooooooooooo many hours if that's all it ever was?

Yeah. The game needs a really good content and better updates.

The point defenses on your ship will shoot your own missiles. Don't tell me this game isn' fun! I bet you didn't expect such novel and surprising gameplay, eh?

For the rest, I'm told you have to possess a great, big imagination to fill in the gaping content shaped holes.

Re-read his post, he has a Cobra.

No his post clearly states he's got a cobra....he was shot by the python and eagle crashed into him.

It's pretty much well known the game is shallow at the moment, the thing is for me that the games "potential" is (pun intended) astronomic! I'm mainly using this time early in the game to learn the ropes and hopefully the devs will increase the content. It's what they have planned after all.

Shallow? Not since 1.1

"when a python shot my shield and an npc eagle flew right into my cobra "
Into my cobra,
i traded/bounty hunted my way to a type 6, trade back down and upgraded my cobra instead.

Still has nothing to do with all the issues i have with this game, this game needs more content and tweaking

tried every weapon and system, rail guns, missiles, rockets, cannons, fragments, was running heat sinks and point defence but actually need bumpers the most for all these kamikaze ai, if i were in a python or in a sidewinder, results would be the same.

Don't get me wrong, I still want this game to succeed

it's one of my favourite genres, played alot of privateer and freelancer back in the day,
I bought this while this was in beta, was an early backer for SC too, got my joysticks specially for these games

I just hope it gets more content , other people may be happy with it in it's current state and i respect that, but i won't be playing yet

I'd rather have the game released now, playable and to see content added and developed over time, rather than go the Star Citizen model, wait 5 years and watch a short tech demo on youtube each month.

Just FYI. You know that Elite Dangerous has been in development for ....well... about a decade ? Except it used to be called "Elite 4" . They renamed the project for the kickstarter.
