We deserve an Official answer from David Braben (I dont think he really knows what happened with 1.)

they have had an test server for 1.1 WHY NOT FIX THIS .... there and THAN bring it to the live server like every normal moderate intelligent company is doing it????

what now??? everyone stop playing till they bring the next patch/hotfix next week???

Sorry to highlight your bad grammar, but you questioned the intelligence of a group of people, so what do you expect in reply?

EDIT: And to be fair, I have spotted more wrong with your post than I pointed out here, but I think you get the point.

Sadly I've done just this. I'd supported SC to a similar level as ED about the same time 15 months ago. I was unhappy with the release of arena commander a few months ago. BUT lately with things here being as they have been for me I decided to reinstall the SC client and I was blown away by the improvements they have made. This led on to me reading more into SC anD one thing strikes me above all else.

THEY COMMUNICATE.

In every possible way from the head man down and regularly on all aspects of the development from technical to lore to fan stuff. They are presenting a far more plausible project at this point. Since ed release it's gone very quiet and we here bits and pieces about the next update in the most brief terms. Right now I can see the road map that SC plans for the next year out to main release. They may not hit the deadlines but they are specific enough to give fans a rough target but enough leeway to cover the company.

SC may well be the game I click on next year and more importantly talk about playing on various gaming forums. ED SADLY could well become a gaming footnote for me which is a shame as ive been here since alpha day one.

What you really seem to be saying is that you flip-flop from from one game to the other based on which development team has made a mistake most recently.

I bought the game that was unfinished, its ok, i know that, the thing that I dont like is they dont listen, they probably dont even read forums, but is unacceptable that they create a betatester phase of 1 week more or less, you test thing, you create videos give suggestions etc, and they go live with a patch with huge bugs... unacceptable for me, this is what im criticizing.....

I know that problany Braben will never show up, but at least I want to try, and yes I want it because I like the game and I want to play my part.
If you dont agree its ok.

Listen i agree that its a bit stupid to expect Braben to come out and make a statement because a patch was useless and broken. That's a bit entitled.

Expecting a game to be in a playable and semi developed state over a month after release isn't entitled, its normal. If the game is still in beta it should not have been released.

THEY COMMUNICATE.

Yeah they've made communication a priority.

But you know how it'll go down, - as SC approaches release fans will get more disgruntled as the reality of the what the game is opposed to what they thought it would be emerges,

Then burnt out devs will first get defensive, then less communicative as they tire of lighting fires in the forums with every communique....and with basically no upper limit for real world spending in SC, some voices will be several orders of magnitude more entitled than OP here.

Ah maybe I'm being cynical.

I don't understand the rush to get the patch out this week. I'd rather they wait a week (or more if that is what it takes) and get some of this stuff sorted out. Push the patch when it's ready, not just because 'we said we'd have it out by Tuesday!'.

Please dont attack people, not everyone is mothertongue english. Be respectful.

As the title, the 1,1 had some issues, and still has issue that need to be addressed.
The huge collision bug that is keep pplayers to log and play is huge.

Stopped reading at this point. The huge collision bug is... huge? If there is anything relevant other than that you expect FDEV to fix the bugs (what they already stated to do), apologies. I would rather like to hear about Brabens vision for the game than some huge collisions.

Then you failed to inform yourselves by reading the forums where it was stated multiple times by the devs that this is a long-term development project which will take several year for completion.

https://store.elitedangerous.com/elite-dangerous-cat/elite-dangerous.html

nowhere it is stated that the already implemented features could be failing, just they would add some

plus ther is actually not a single reason for them not to push back the release of 1.1.

what justify rushing it with known major bugs instead of bumping it back for say a week so that said major bugs, which were known and reported during beta btw, be fixed?

i mean one has to be really dumb to think it is better to crash the game instead of "loosing" a week.

especially since 1.1 made most bug even worse, in addition to fixing almost none and introducing some. hell if someone in my company would be to push live such a broken update i'd get him fired for sabotage!

Yes they should, listen the betatester, check, fix the problem and then release a perfect patch.
I mean 1.1 for some point of view was positive, i got 10 fps more, but some bugs were unacceptable.
They probably have a scheduled release roadmap and they try to stay focus on that. But this is not quality is rush....

Its not just the patch though.

The whole release schedule for this game has absolutely ruined it. It should be coming out in June/July 2015 at this rate. The early release has cost the company reputation and review scores, made a whole bunch of fans extremely angry (judging form the forums) and made themselves look incredibly incompetent and unprofessional.
Its such a shame, because if they keep developing this game it could really turn into something special, but the messed up release means that people will miss out.

Hello there

I paid for the game, I deserve Braben to come round to my house an explain in great detail everything he's ever done.

Especially about that damned LensLok I had to fiddle with in the 80's

I think the plan was always to release 1.1 to live exactly when they did, and to go through beta test reports and fix issues in the weekly hotfix patches. Not saying that is the best of ideas, but it does appear to be the case.
Correct me if I'm wrong... but isn't Elite Dangerous a Release title.... why would we have to refer to beta forums??

No. That's an answer. At least, that's the kind of answer you get from someone who is busy actually improving the game. "Deserves" got nothin' to do with it.

The chances of ED being significantly improved via a development process that allows major tested and reported bugs to go live are quite slim as Zenimax found with Elder Scrolls Online.

Don't even start with that narrow-minded ageist bull crap. To characterize an entire generation makes you look judgmental and short sighted.

Am I tired of entitled people from every generation? Heck yeah...all these people from young adults to seniors all think they are freaking owed something in every encounter they have in the world. It disgusts me, as someone who has worked hard for everything I have despite being hamstrung by the mistakes of my parent's generation and now with the garbage delusions of my generation.

That cabin in the woods is looking better every year I have to deal with all of you...

I get losing 10 mill to a stupid bug, in as much as it would be time lost. We don't get that time back. Some are losing faith in FD. Well i am not even close yet to that. i read the forums watch for the problem areas and avoid. I have VERY limited time to play, so my time on the game is especially precious to me and getting blown up docking or leaving the station would be beyond annoying for me.

But...

we do need to keep on at FD to improve the game. FD must not get into defensive mentality, which is so very easy. We do need more than one line statements.

That said...

The game is going in a direction I like. The intent in the patch is spot on. During beta there were some horrendous releases that they sorted super quick. OSOD is one tricky one that caught me in its web. As for DB making a statement, yes but too soon. He is sort of like the president and should do a "State of the Game" address after six months, then every six or twelve months there after. Michael Brooks is the man who needs to do a bit more in the way of interim paragraph statements, and to be honest they need to be written by a PR type with technical input and then approved and signed off by Michael.

Play the game/dont play it. Your feelings are valid and clearly you feel passionate if you are angry about a problem. Just try to add some rationality and patience. Sometimes that may not work. So take a break, do something else and dip back in in a while. You may be surprised with the development of the game and re-engage with it. Try not to get too angsty about it all, life is too short.

I find it really pathetic who begin to argue attacking the grammar of the person who is writing .
Do you mean that the person is stupid because he has difficulty in writing ?
Since he probably know his language and part of your .. while you don't even understand a single word of his language ... I'd say he has much more culture than you.
Learn to respect others and to understand things .. even if they are buried under two or three spelling errors .
Maybe you feel less cool but at least you learn something .
