Community Goals - How, Where and Why you should take part - Yembo

Hi

This is a very simple thread about the community goal and Yembo.

EDIT - Signing up and delivering a single tonne of metal seems to be enough to get you the tier one reward right away!

Here's what you need to get started.

This is what we are trying to build

Basically bring metals and sell them at Yembo. So if you are a trader get trucking

If you are a miner the get stuck in! There are three extraction points within 12LS

If you like adventure. The bulletin board has all the usual missions. End slavery, bring technical blue prints, kill an anaconda etc.

The profits are not amazing and there is the obvious reward in taking part in the very first community goal.

The rewards are going up as more people contribute and the lower level rewards becoming more accessible as as players make even the smallest of contributions.

One very good reason to join is that the more people who join, the lower the rewards threshold... I think more players will bring down the entry level for top x per cent. So if I'm right everyone should give it a go. And if I'm not, that's fine. It's just some fun and it will leave a legacy if we succeed.

Influencing a boom status is possible at Yembo.

Open play - People are loving it!
Solo - You can participate in the goal in safety

As this is a community goal we should share our commodities sources. So please post yours. When and if they dry up then we can just move on to another in the list.

I'll get the ball rolling

I buy my metals from
Noon Port in the Lamia System, a tiny independent confederacy with an unsanctioned platform in deep space (my kind of place) with a black market, a wide variety of metals.

Recent Market info.

Confirmed Palladium source
The cheapest reliable source of Palladium I've found within 40 ly is Virtanen Hub in the Brani system, where it's sold for 12741 cr/t, meaning there's a profit of 1558 cr/t. They have a very large supply. The distance is 32 ly with 16 ls to the station.

10 Kappa Persei (about 40ly) has consistently high supply for metals. About 1000ls from star to station IIRC, and ~1.8k/ton profit for Gold.

I was doing 588k/round trip in my T7 last night, but the profitability of the Yembo-->10 kappa persei leg has decreases since supplies of mineral extractors are dwindling.

Ive delivered 2500 Tonnes of palladium to help the cause.
Made a bunch of new friends in the process and met some scallywags!
Great fun!

I would but as I have to just about remove everything from my ship because my battery cell uses more power than any other unit I cant take off. shipping metal can wait!

It is kind of nice to be part of something finally. I never felt confident enough in my gear to go into the combat zones. Granted I'll only get the 500 credit reward and whatever I eek out making cargo runs 16 tons at a time (Ernie Ford would be proud). Still it's nice to know that there are actually other people out there, not just me grinding out NPC pirates to afford a new engine!

I guess Cobras and smaller ships can just fit out for mining and a bit of combat and go to one of the nearby extraction sites for some action and join in on the community goal at the same time.
