actual benefits of being 'allied'

so, what are the actual benefits of being allied with a ruling faction of a system or station?

you definitely do get more mission options, including the occasional big money missions (60k for transporting gold etc)

does it change the amount you are interdicted / scanned?
do you get more items in outfitting?
does it reduce trading prices?
do allied ships respond quicker to you if you 'report crimes against me'?

and if not - should it?

The most important benefit is that they say, "Greetings respected ally" when you request docking permission which makes you feel all warm and glowy.

Also, though I've not done extensive testing, I've a vague feeling that they might on occasion turn a blind eye to a spot of smuggling when scanning you. But take that with a pinch of salt - I'm not certain, but it's felt a bit like that at times.

In the systems I am friendly with I no longer get interdicted by security ships anymore. Not sure if that is a benefit or if I have just been lucky :)

But I still get scanned when near the station though...

Ships that are allied with you will come to your aid if you are getting attacked. You won't have to wait for the police.

As stated before, when allied:
-stations and ships are showed in green color
-"Greetings respected Ally" message when docked
-prices of fuel are cheaper
-allied ships never interdicted me
-...and lots of another advantages will come with new updates

You should get to enter the station through a private side enterance instead of the letterbox with all of the other riffraff :)

Only real benefit I have found so far is higher grade quests and 10% fuel discount but as I mentioned in this thread these benefits only seems to work for the faction where you gained "true" allied status (only visible when you hand in a quests).
All proxy rep gained from the main faction doesn't seem to count in any way other than showing them as allied in faction menu and the "greetings respected ally"

It should grant discounts on outfitting, but not on trade items.

I think outfitting, repair and munitions should be discounted if you are allied but not trade items.

Would be good to see a noticeable increase in missions if you are friendly/allied but that is more of a wish for better, deeper and more varied missions than anything else.

a clearer, scalable indication of your status with factions would be very welcome.

i do love this game but far too much of it is left unspoken / unexplained...

repairs are cheaper, at least compared to fed space which is hostile towards me. not sure on what the difference would be for a neutral faction vs allied. less interdictions from police, and you dont have to scan an allied vessel for local bounty, you get info right away. pretty much all that i was able to notice.

I thought police never interdicted anyone with 'Clean' status, and nothing to do with being allied in the system ? I may be imagining it but police/authority vessels seem to swarm to your protection when you're allied.

If you're Unfriendly or Hostile with the police faction they'll go out of their way to interdict you, even when you're Clean.

Fuel is 10% cheaper at an allied station

I'm allied at stations both ends of my trade route, one grants me the discount and the other does not. They did seem harder to please though, so maybe there's different levels of allied and i haven't reached the 'we love you' stage yet.
