Not happy

Have some

I'm hearing from different players that this is a contact bug and players will get back what they lost. Can anyone confirm this?

While in a seeking good instance i got near the lakon 9 to scan it and got rammed and my 15Mil+ asp(with upgrades) got destroyed. Basically I didn't have enough to cover my losses and have to go back to the sidewinder. Seriously there should be an option to have a more aggressive percentage off earnings to pay off bigger loans etc

thats stuppid never fly what you can't buy.

I allways have a few ships hanging arround, never trade in your old ship to buy a new one !!!

Raise a support ticket - they did say tehy were refunding all repair bills from between 1.1 and 1.1.02 due to this bug, and if you lost your ship due to this then they may refund it to you.

Once you have done that, write on a piece of paper 500 times, "I will not fly without insurance", and stick to it!

Couldn't be happier for you! Im going to go out and waste my 20M Asp that's in storage and rebuy it, just for you, because you made me laugh.

This is the best advice. Keep other ships. I'm basically hoarding ships all over the galaxy - one Hauler with 30ly jump range in my starting system (so I can get back to the bigger ships FAST in case of ... catastrophic dumbness on my part) and the rest stuffed into a station on some Hightech world.

I have two ships, a Viper and an Asp, but I don't think having an extra ship solves the bigger problem.
If you fly a 20 mill Asp and die, but have insurance, net loss is 1 million.
If you fly a 20 mill Asp and die, but don't have insurance, net loss is 20 million.

If you have a viper somewhere or not doesn't solve this, in fact, you would be financially better off if you sold the viper so you had enough for insurance for the Asp.
Never fly without insurance.

What I cant get a handle on is why someone would take this risk, I mean all you had to do was run with one of your A grade modules as a B and viola - theres your insurance contingency while you make a couple more trade runs. Its not like B-A makes a massive difference in most cases so I can only assume its greed or vanity.

>Flying without insurance, dying, blaming the game for not having a backup safety net for those who ignore the first one.

At this point in the game, with so many stories of people doing exactly this and getting exactly that, all I can say is you totally deserved it.

DON'T FLY WHAT YOU CAN'T BUY

OP, the monsters that inhabit these boards will only take joy in your suffering and pile on since it makes them feel good about themselves.

Quit the game, it's terrible anyway.

Pre-paid insurance would be good. I'm not big on saying 'your fault.' I am big on customers being happy and telling others to come pay for our expansions. Frontier need to rethink this mechanism.

First, I'm sorry for you losing everything it sucks.

However, flying without insurance cash is just stupid. Every time I leave the station I look at my credits/insurance costs. if I spent too much on my asp, and cant afford the insurance, I put it away and pull out the viper to make enough cash to cover my loses if need be. I don't get what's so hard about that.

Nope, that was already fixed. You messed up and lost your ship. Deal with it.
Note that the original post was made one and a half days ago. It wasn't fixed at that time, it was only fixed later the same day.

So yes, he can potentially raise a support ticket to have his situation recovered.

Life sucks... and goes on!

I think the Devs need to implement a policy, that you cannot launch if you can't afford the insurance

I think we would see a stop to all the crying threads, I lost every thing because I am stupid!

These posts STILL can't be real. I'm guessing there is one guy who lost everything this way, making threads in some kinda crusade.

Who says there isn't anything to do in game?

You have a new mission. Recover your losses and work your way up! Lesson learned! Fly safe!

I see three mistakes.

1. Flying too close to the Type 9. That's ok, that's easy to do. We've all bumped into another ship at one time or another
2. Flying without insurance cover. That's dumb. They had a saying in Eve which is just as relevant here. Don't fly what you can't afford to lose.
3. Coming here and bleating about it. This will only gain you ridicule as you have now found out.

I hope they do include you in the refunds but I have to be honest and say that if it was me that was making the decision it'd be limited to rebuy costs and cargo not whole ships because you thought it was a good idea to fly uninsured.
