Interesting Feature

So people can interdict you, disable your thrusters and leave you to die. Nice feature. Absolutely ruins the game. Last straw for me, too many of these nice "features" completely ruins the game and makes it a huge waste of time. Why bother hauling anything if you have no way to defend yourself in a massive ship?

Massive ships don't get mass locked by anything except stations and other massive ships.

The auto field repair module works on thrusters now too.

what is a massive ship? you can always submit to the interdiction and jump away after 5s

I read this and had an image of you stamping your feet and holding your breath until your face turned blue. I could be wrong though. Welcome to ED

Even if the attacker has a bigger ship you still can jump to another system, even if mass locked. If you can't get away fast enough, learn to submit, boost and jump. Also equip a better shield. If he still catches you he might be the better player.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Whiterose again.

Seems you have my approval across posts :p

Won't the griefer just kill you if he goes through your modules and sees that you can repair the damage done?

Almost certainly! But i understood the OP as meaning he'd been left alone to die, with no way of engaging FSD to get out of there.
If killing his thrusters was just the prelude to killing him, then no, AFM wouldn't help much.
It might be just enough to get up speed to engage FSD though if he's lucky...

Also not the Canopy.

AFM module now repairs all modules except power plant and itself.

Canopy isn't a module, but it's true that it's worth remembering that canopy and hull damage can't be repaired either, only what you can see on the list of modules.

So you want a module that prevents you from dying, correct?

Um, no - not even remotely correct.

I made an observation about the mentality of griefers (genuine griefers, not pirates). They are interested in heaping misery on players, and one way of doing that is to make a player destroy their own ship through lack of choice. If the player has a choice (self-repair) then the griefer will just destroy them rather than force suicide.

Ever heard of SUBMIT? throttle back and let them take you into normal space.

No damage and FSD recharge is only 5 seconds. Plenty of time to get away, Also no pirate will mass lock you.

The AFM solution has already been posted but I would also add that FD are considering (and will probably implement) jury rigging modules such as sensors/thrusters as an option for those that don't carry an AFM unit.

Not sure if the AFM unit shows up on the list of subsystems when you can a ship.
Not everything does IIRC
If so, just wait until they leave before repairing

Indeed, sounds promising

Didnt seem to work for the people in the videos in the Station Griefing thread which is probably the same videos that resulted in this thread

Seemed appropriate :)
