Interesting Feature

So people can interdict you, disable your thrusters and leave you to die. Nice feature. Absolutely ruins the game. Last straw for me, too many of these nice "features" completely ruins the game and makes it a huge waste of time. Why bother hauling anything if you have no way to defend yourself in a massive ship?

That is part of the game is it not? If you don't want anyone to interdict you play in solo mode.... or better equip your ship for defense. I myself like the challenge of try to evade an interdiction I don't even have weapons on my sidewinder. And yes a few times I have lost the battle no big deal start over.

I always hated sore losers on the playground when I was a kid..... Just say'n

I read this and had an image of you stamping your feet and holding your breath until your face turned blue. I could be wrong though. Welcome to ED

As I mentioned above like kids in the playground LOL

Ever heard of SUBMIT? throttle back and let them take you into normal space.

No damage and FSD recharge is only 5 seconds. Plenty of time to get away, Also no pirate will mass lock you.

This is good advise!

Why do people get some interest in that game, read the title and still refuse to acknowledge the meaning of "dangerous" ?

You get interdicted, regularly, in Solo by NPCs. It is not offline or single player mode. If you get shot to bits in Open you will also get shot to bits by NPC Asps, Pythons etc., etc.

I was interdicted by another Anaconda yesterday, my conda has A rated thrusters, FSD ,powerplant and distributer, I submitted and was able to continually boost away to the point the other ship was basically off the radar scope he tried to slow me down by firing missiles but my 5 pdts took care of those and jumped away unharmed.

So many of these whine posts that demonstrate how spoiled and uninformed about basic game mechanics people are nowadays.

I know this might sound like a paradox, but, people, please recognize threads that are supposed to sink and not get replied to in the first place...

No offense, but I don't know that any story that includes the term "in my Anaconda" should ever be taken as indicative of the general gameplay experience.

:D

Yeah if only this game had no danger and was just space trucking right?!!

Ah this must have been what happened to me, thought the FSD cooldown had been altered for 1.1.01/2 - but it's good to know.

Ohh; because they love the massive galaxy; are not great pilots yet and think they can play it in 'Open' and enjoy game play and the galaxy.

Submit, 4 pips to shields 2 to engines, boost and hyperspace out.
Still works in an unarmed freighter.

If it's that annoying then join a group like Mobius or drop to solo until you get a combat ship.

This was solo. I had three pips in each. NPC clipper was all over me, faster than me, couldn't get out of range. Killed me (A-class shield) before FSD kicked in.

Massive ships don't get mass locked by anything except stations and other massive ships.

The auto field repair module works on thrusters now too.

A pirate Asp mass-locks T6, T7, T9 traders. Also other Asps. Not sure about Python.

I thought that auto repair module doesn't fix destroyed (0%) modules. Is this true?

You are joking, yes?

As a trader, I've watched many hours of pirate twitch streams. The prefered ship for professional pirates is an Asp. This can mass-lock T6, T7, T9 and Asp (not sure about Python).

If you're in an Asp with size 3 shields, or a T6, T7, or T9 then you have no option but to give the pirate exactly what they want and hope they are not the homicidal type. You cannot escape. All those who try to run, they die. 100%.

All those who try to fight (usually in Asps but I've seen a couple of well-armed T9's), they die. The pirate is better armed, better prepared, and more experienced.

An Asp with 5A shields can run and escape, usually with damage, but I've rarely seen this on the streams.

Some T6 or T7 try to run and get shot up with hull damage. They then explode from over-heating from the boost and FSD charge, due to the hull damage. This happens often. If the pirate lets you go, cool down before jumping, or use heat-sinks. When a trader dies this way, it makes the pirate sad (but if that's what you want then OK :)

I'm not a great pilot either but I log in open play fully aware of the risk I take to be blown to pieces by some elite pirate wanting some fun. It has been repeatedly stated that ED is a multiplayer game with PvP so why would you want to change that ? It's like joining a football club and whining about the fact that there's an opposite team wanting the ball for themselves each time you play.

If true that's a major bug that needs fixing. Nothing mass locks an Anaconda and the T9's hull weighs twice as much. There should be nothing that can mass lock a T9, much less being locked by a puny Asp.

The few times I did the seeking luxuries boner pill runs I was able to FSD in my Anaconda surrounded by T9s without any kind of delay.

how about a repair module?

You DO know that the game is called "Elite: Dangerous" for people playing in solo and group mode too, right ?

So shall we stop the rubbish reference to the game title, as if it had any bearing on ongoing discussions ?

For all intend and purpose the game could be called "Unicorn: Rainbows", and it'd still have nothing to do with what we discuss on this forum.
