I do Let's Plays, and was hoping to record people flashing their lights. If anyone else could get that on video, that'd be awesome! Even though there was nobody else I'll still post the video I took.

Sorry nobody else made it to your instance. I had real world events that kept me out of game at the appointed time (I got there about 15 minutes late).

So, as I mentioned I made a video. Took a while to render then upload, so posting now that I've just woken up. Of course, since this is my second post, I'm limited from actually posting links, so...

Or not, whatever :p It was my first Elite video, so I spent time talking about the game itself and other stuff on my channel.

Again... hoping somebody's able to record the 18:00 one, should be cool!

If I make it in time I'll gladly shoot down some of those flashing lights. Or we "The Empire" could go even further. Bring some regular slaves. (No Imperial slaves ofcourse). And release them in space.

I think he would have been comfortable with Imperial slavery -- he would not have seen it as slavery. Bear in mind that there was conscription in his time, conscription is clearly a kind of slavery (as a conscript, try exercising your inalienable right to liberty by not turning up when called, or refusing a lawful order once drafted).

I've just read that during the civil war not only were there draftees, there were people paid to take the draft on behalf of someone else. Highly reminiscent of Imperial "slavery".

Well... at least three of us were able to make it out to Abraham Lincoln for the 14:00 UTC meeting. CMDR Virgil Kyle honored us by reading the Gettysburg address in honor of Lincoln's birthday. Video is uploading now and will be linked back here when done.
Hope more folks can make it out for the 18:00 meeting. I hope to be there but might not be able to make it. We'll see. Hopefully if I'm not there someone will capture some video.

FYI, I have to stay docked at Abe Lincoln, since I have a fortune's worth of exploration data on board, but hopefully I can still chat with you guys :)

Well, I was there on time and just saw few ships shooting on each other. I expected some more ships there, doing what was supposed to do (lights on, etc.). I don't know, maybe there was not so much people there at all or whole crowd was spread between different islands, but the result was unfortunately.... none.

I was the only one who showed up for the 18:00 timing (the one mentioned in the official GalNet news bulletin). Flashed my lights for 30 seconds at exactly 18:00 GMT. Thought maybe I'd get a prize. :)

I think I must've been that single square on your radar. I was outside the station from about 17:55-18:15, but didn't see another human....

Hmm...now I'm wondering if we're on different server shards or something. 'Cause I didn't see any of the folks here who said they were near the station. I'm in Asia, by the way. Not sure how the servers work for ED...is it supposed to be single shard, like Eve Online?
