I found an oblong planet!

On my return trip from the Bubble Nebula, I stumbled upon this gem! Anybody else find one?
EDIT: As 'corrected' by those below, I understand the technically correct term is 'oblate', but I think I'll still stick with Oblong.

If the game can already do oblate spheroids, could we have some stars squished please? (Achenar I'm looking at you!) :)

Oblong? What am I missing here?

To me, oblong is a non-square rectangle. Do you mean oblate?

having an elongated shape, as a rectangle or an oval.

Doesn't seem that much of a stretch to me.

(No pun intended.)
(Shoot me now.)

not sure either .. I was expecting an egg shaped type of pic .. but this planet looks normal ... what am I missing???

That's normal for gas giants.
Jupiter and Saturn are that shape. It's because of their high rotation rate.

Looks normal to me..???

1: I don't spend much time around Sol and other filthy federation systems, so I couldn't compare the modeled version of Jupiter and Saturn.
2: In all my exploring, I have not seen a Gas Giant that had a larger radius at the equator than a meridian. So I posted this to show what I found and to see if anyone else had seen it.
3: Compare the vertical diameter to the horizontal diameter and compare them to the other planets in the pictures, you'll see the difference.

I think those started to appear in one of the latest patches because only today I've seen few, and not a single one before.

Hopefully, they will make fast spinnng stars oblate spheroids too. Preferably with gas being released into space along the equator due to the centrifugal force. Realistic Pleione, for example, should actually look like this:
