My opinion on what FD need to do now.

Number '1' should be changed because it is not working. At all.

Rightly or wrongly, they dont want to and have confirmed they wont be.

If they can program the 'time you are still in the universe when you dissconnect to 15 secs', then they can change it to a minute!

Will work for those that disconnect gracefully, IE via the menu log out screen, for those that kill the exe via task manager it wont make any difference.

May i kindly direct you to another thread to continue this discussion. When you arrive, please present your coherent and well-rounded reasons for thinking that it does not work "at all". (Bearing in mind that many watching that thread have "heard it all" but then again, we like fresh perspectives. (Did I nearly say fresh meat? :D )

Continue to wander down this road on this argument and you'll get merged. It does not take much!!!

It's working exactly like it was intended to work. Your opinion does not change that fact.

You are not "still in the universe when you disconnect". When you disconnect (gracefully or not) you are no longer visible in the universe. The 15 second timer? You are still connected the whole 15 seconds until logout.

We have modes, because we have modes. Because. Without them, this game would not have become reality at all. Cope with it. Some people love the lore, but they don't want to interact with anyone whatsoever for any reason whatsoever. Deal with it. If you can't live with that, find another game.

This game was NOT made so that you, me, or anyone else could interact with anyone else. It was made for different reasons. Multiplayer is just a later added gimmick.

If 'Some people love the lore, but they don't want to interact with anyone whatsoever for any reason whatsoever. Deal with it. If you can't live with that, find another game.' then why do they click on 'open' when they start the game?

The Dev's will continue adding/patching/creating/etc to what is already a solid base, nothing more nothing less and in their own vision, it is their baby after all, we've just tagged along for the ride and I for one am enjoying every moment warts and all.

Bingo !!!

Needs to be in the next update :)

I get that, but what about those of us that may get the occasional bounty, but do not pirate? Missions, stray fire, you know the story. There has to be a separation between PC and NPC interaction if you want to go that way.

Easy fixes. Pirating - do NOT let people pay off their own bounties. That in itself would sort a whole lot of issues.

Genius, with the caveat of fully addressing friendly fire. Rather than making the distinction between PvP and NPC, what about something through the affiliation of Allies in the system?

My opinion on what FD needs to do now: fix my character so I can continue playing.

Unable to play since 5th Feb. Will continue ranting about my situation in various threads on the forums until I can play again. Ticket may have moved forward. Not sure. There's been no reply after the previous one asking me about upnp settings and me telling them that's not the issue.

Could not connect to matchmaking server. The main menu looks cool, though, there's the space station to behold and stuff. And the training missions. Such wonderful content.

I think the OP makes some good points.

Basically there is no incentive to break the law; pirating isn't profitable enough and is too much hassle. Make all cargo scooped "salvage", leave a small number of cargo canisters intact after ship destruction, and give us pirate bases :)

Agree with the cargo point. Salvage in the great expanse always used to revolve around Finders Keepers. This premise would keep Traders, Pirates and Explorers happy whilst also having the added effect of bootstrapping new players faster.

OP, your concepts have been discussed and there are a number of players that share your opinions. But, you are promoting views that aren't shared by all. FD are building a game to appeal to themselves, and, hopefully, many many others. Options are the best way to accomplish that.

WOW, so ....

We are not going to get solo open and group fixed because of DERP, and we are not going to get pirating balanced because of DERP, and we are not going to get anything fixed, because the traders are complaining so heavily? WOW, GG. Traders, try a game called X3, its offline and its good.

Actually, Traders are playing the fourth instalment of the Seminal Space Trading Game called Elite. :D Just thought I'd bring that up...

Those should be a fine, not a bounty :)

I hate to say it, but it just seems that ED might not be for you, the devs don't consider mode switching broken, nor to countless players (its just part of the game now and accepted). You can't fix something that is working as intended, you might not agree with that design decision (and many don't) but you are left with 1 simple choice; that of do you want to continue to play within the designed universe as is?
