Newcomer / Intro Two months and still no word, Mercenary Edition.

I preordered the mercenary edition in december last year and I'm still waiting for the digital concept art book and "loads more digital goodies" that were promised to be announced over the coming WEEKS after the release. And also the "Exclusive pack of ship paint jobs". I've only got one paintjob so far and I've looked at every ship in the price range up to the imperial clipper.

That discussion was closed as it was turning nasty which by reading just now it was ,so that answers that part.
There is a mercenary paint job that you can apply to many ships .
Yep its delayed for the rest ,there have been posts made about this from FD >I havent the time to find them

I'm not saying they should not have closed it. Regardles of how it went the OP started with a question that many people have been asking and it was completely ignored.
It's still only one paint job. Very dissapointing since it's made to sound like a pack of different paint jobs, but I get it.


And I still want to know what digital goodies they are referring to. What did I/will I recieve apart from the other things mentioned in the description that I wouldn't have had if I didn't buy the mercenary edition?

The official word is as follows (as per support ticket answer):

• Exclusive pack of ship paint jobs-Were these the Cobra Nest Packs or were those part of the 'digital goodies' mentioned below?

These are the Mercenary paint jobs available for the Sidewinder, Cobra and Viper.

• A ‘day one’ ship decal- Have never received this-or were these the skull decals?

The 'day one' decal is the skull icon currently available in-game.

• A digital players guide - something special or the downloadable manual that came out recently?

This item is still being worked on and we hope to release it soon.

• A digital concept art book - Not seen this at all

This is also still being worked on.

• Plus loads more digital goodies to be announced over the coming weeks. - is there a definitive list of these?

There is no definitive list available currently, however we do hope to release lots of interesting digital items in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye on our newsletter and other news sources for more information about these and other outstanding rewards.

I also still waiting for my hardcopy DVD of the game (the upgrade version) I think they called it and it has been paid for in dec. last year before the release of the game officially... I'm guessing that I wont get it untill after they have a more complete game, than the game is at this point with all the remaining bugs ect... At least I haven't heard from them since, not even from the email I sent them... :(

Ps. in the online store it just says "on hold" I have however received the paintjobs ingame which I ordered at the same time...

I also bought the Mercenary Pack and have:

FreEagle - now with new Crimson paintjob that arrived in 1.1.
Day One Decal - which turns out to be the skull, which was an existing in-game asset.
Mercenary Skin Pack - the Green / White skin that shows on the Sidewinder, Viper and Cobra.

No Art Book, no Player guide which is not the Player manual, no loads of digital goodies.

I have become Zen like in my indifference to the actual things promised, but it does get my goat that there's a singlular lack of communication.

It would be a small thing to post some replies in the multiple treads about this, or even put a sticky somewhere in the News / Patch / Dev update forums, so at least we don't have to do a hunt and peck through the threads to get a glimmer of information.

I didn't even realise there was some digital art that I'm missing out on.

Hardly worth getting all in a tiss about though. Concept art books are, by and large, pointless pre-order drivel to me - digital ones even more so.

I'd prefer they used their resources on fixing bugs and introducing more features. Have more skins is pointless if I can only view them in outfitting, for example.

This is just me though, I don't blame anyone else for being upset at not receiving promised content.

Who cares? Would you prefer they spent time making up a bunch of pictures for Mercenary Edition or spent time adding much needed content to the game? I think I can wait indefinitely on Mercenary edition if that time was invested in the game instead.
