Well done, DR, for taking a long, hard look at yourself, and not only admitting to yourself that you made a mistake, but for admitting to all here the same. It takes a lot of guts to do that. Repped.
So I'd like to take the opportunity to apologise and will make sure I put in a few checks and balances on my end before I drop a reply on a thread from now on.
... if someone apologises just accept it. If you don't beleive him just look at his post history. He's genuine.
Elite will get exactly the amount of sales and revenue it deserves. In fact ... it will actually get more than it deserves.
I appear to have gathered a bit of a rubbish reputation recently (I'd say worse but the sweary filters don't allow it) especially for being on a constant downer on FD.
[snip]
So, summing up, I'm no troll but I acted like one, it won't be happening again. To FD: sorry for being so harsh. To Mods: sorry for being a pain. To you folks on here: sorry for being a . And to ED: I'll be pressing PLAY for a long time to come.
As some have already mentioned, the recent deliberate and repetitive negativity has soured the experience for many - so I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here. Your post is a convenient example of a more general malaise, so you shouldn't take this as a personal attack.
.
You say you're sorry, but how many players have you and your ilk cost this game? Many potential purchasers come to these forums before making a decision, so how much revenue have your ceaselessly negative posts cost FD - and by extension, how much content have you denied us as players? Feel free to make an estimate yourself - and if it's any more than zero, then at £40 a pop, you concur that you've caused real, tangible loss.
.
So, are you really sorry, or are you just posting empty words here to troll more attention from the forum? Because an apology without any attempt to redress the damage done is worse than pointless - it's insulting. Will you reimburse FD for their loss? If not, how will you make up for the damage done?
.
I suspect that in fact you're unwilling to accept and correct the consequences of your actions - which makes any apology a simple evasion of responsibility.
.
When people are held to account, they quickly learn to consider the consequences of their actions, before they act, rather than seeking to excuse themselves with hollow apologies after the fact.
It takes a big person to admit when they were wrong, and to take responsibility for their words or actions. Devil's Refugee has done just this, it's not an easy thing to do, so regardless of the past, it should be graciously accepted, since there's been no evidence that he/she is being insincere. If he reverts and continues down the path previously followed, it would be a hollow apology, but again, there's no evidence of this, so accept it and move on.
